Mondays are icky.
That is all.
Thank you for listening.
*and now back to your regulary scheduled programming*
So, camp; good stuff. It's about three weeks away! ^_^ *squee*
Trent leaves for Japan on Friday, and I'm super excited for him. The more I learn about Japan and the more Japanese I know, the more I"m considering taking a year or two after college and doing the JET program. That would be a blast.
Savings priorities:
1) Game card for WoW. *how I miss it* I seriously have nothing to do without it. Well, that's not true. Anime on YouTube and image edits with GIMP. I might possibly download some more anime. Or perhaps I'll catch up on the naruto manga. or finish watching bleach/ one piece. You know, it's not as fun to fangirl about these things when everyone else is suddenly interested in them. T_T Perhaps I shall watch this new series I've heard about. It's not terribly popular here yet. If anyone has any to reccomend, let me know.
2) Burning Crusade. I have a deposit down on it already. *squee* The way I figure it, if I can somehow magically have my room cleaned for me while I'm gone, I can rearrange my furniture the week before scool starts. I could also make some curtains during that week. Between those things, mum wouldn't be able to see the light of my computer. Which means I don't have to go to bed. :P
3) Computer. Mum promised me a new comp for a graduation gift at the end of this year. However, I don't think she's gonna buy me my $1000 or so Alienware comp. That means it's up to me. Just think how many programs I could run at once! And severe lack of lag! o.O Also rather counter productive.
4) Clothes. I need a wardrobe-redo. It's about halfway done. It needs to be finished.
5) More game cards. I'm thinking buying them in advance might be good.
6) A maid. That would be nice.
In other news, mum still doesn't have a job. Bah, she'll get one eventually. In the mean time, I should probably do something about my room so that I can have some of what little money we do have for my allowence. *looks at the destruction around her* Yeah, on second thought, no.
The Jungle by Upton Sinclair is a horridly blunt book. This man spares no details. Trent made me nearly puke by showing me some random ass video where the guy (you get to watch AND LISTEN to all of this mind you) tries to throw himself on the ground, misses, and because he's wearing new shoes which are rather in flexible ends up breaking his ankle. To the point where his foot was sticking up as he was laying face down on the ground. Yes, it was on BACKWARDS. Eww... The sound of it breaking was the worst part. Reminded me of spraining my ankle to the point where I couldn't move until people moved me. Apparently that sprain was just as bad a break would have been. Ish. Okay I'm grossed out again.
Back to the story. So after viewing that horrible piece of cinematography, I went to my room and started reading The Jungle from where I left off. Since I have to read it for school I figured it couldn't be too bad, so it would calm me down a bit. Nope. I ended up skipping about half of chapter three in which Mr. Sinclair, in his endlessly monotonously and minisculely (that is now a word, for the record) detailed tone, decides to describe to the reader the daily goings on of a slaughter house for pigs. Everything from the blood spraying everywhere, to the chains that yanked the pigs off their feet to the screams as they had this part chopped off, this part sawed off, and then their throats slit. That was lovely, really, it was. Only the second time in my life when I've considered going vegetarian. gross. Granted, the factories are now a lot more humane. That is a good thing.
Um, what else? Relatives coming into town this week, one of which was just in a motorcycle accident so his arm will be in a sling. Icky. Next week: family reunions about 30 hours of reading and some japanese homework to boot!
Happier note, SENIOR PICTURES on THURSDAY! I think it'll take about a week for them to be prettified properly or whatever, and then another week to have them printed. So i'll try, try, try my hardest to have them up before I leave.
IF YOU WANT TO SEE THEM BEFORE SCHOOL STARTS:
you have to meet at least one of these requirements:
1) You don't live in Minnesota/ the TC area.
2) You just graduated.
3) You don't intend to come to Avalon next year/see me next fall.
4) You are related to me.
5) You live in Roseville and attend RAHS.
The rest of you can see them in the fall AFTER you've seen my haircut. I'd hate for there to be spoilers. If you meet one of those requirements, comment or send me an email, and I'll send you the private link to them once their up.
:P
As always,
♥Tal
