had an awesome Christmas. I'm INto Christmas. So many people aren't these days, which I find sad. Despite being a lesbian, and hated by many Christians, I myself am still a Christian myself, and so Christmas holds deep meaning for me. Plus my brother was killed on the 23rd of December 28 years ago, so it's a super special family time.
New Years Eve, however, is totally overrated. My sister came over, and she, Brooke and I played Scattegories and Tipayatung until 11:30 when we drove to the beach at Taperoo to watch the Semaphore fireworks. A nice quiet evening, and we were asleep by 1.
I now need to search for a job. I don't want to be a nurse, and yet I am now a registered nurse. I don't want to work in a hospital..... well, I do and I don't. It's probably a blessing that I didn't get a GNP position. So I am now applying for nursing home jobs. And I'm hoping to study with the National Dog Trainers Federation of Australia this year, to become a dog trainer. My dream is to work with animals, and I need to focus my energy on that!
My cat caught a bird today. I found it amusing - even though it is gross, but Brooke is horrified. I will be putting an extra bell on her collar tomorrow - she has a bell on her current BLING BLING collar, but I have read that cats learn how to move without making 1 bell rattle - but they have more difficulty with 2 bells. I have 4 spare bells if need be! LOL
Brooke bought patches today, to quit smoking. i REALLY hope she does end up quitting, coz it is such a nasty habit, and it is TOTALLY not animal friendly. The tests cigarette companies do on animals is just disgusting. I am joining weight watchers this wednesday. I am not HUGE, but I am sick to death of my weight staying the same, and it's all because my portions are too large, and I like to indulge in chocolate. I work my ass off at the gym 5 days a week doing spin classes, body attack, and swimming laps and aqua aerobics - thank God i DO that work, coz at least i don't put weight ON, I stay the same. But with weight watchers I am hoping that will give me the motivation and the determination to make my portions smaller, and the fear of weighing in and the scales not moving - will KICK MY ASS INTO GEAR!
i can't believe that I just wrote in lj. it's been a long long time.
