Setting: canonverse, a couple of years to the future (don’t want to specify how many exactly, but not too many). I started this when chapter 422 was new, so if anything that happens after that in the manga contradicts with this, I’ll just ignore it, okay? Okay.

With little distractions like ninja wars out of the way, Naruto and Gaara finally have time to hang out and be friends. And to realize it's actually been a long time since they considered each other just 'friends'.
