Two questions:
First question, Who was right: my late Senior Supervisor, my Friend and my Teacher - Professor Don Langmead and his colleague Don Johnston, two architectural historians, who stated that the city plan for Adelaide was done mainly by George Strickland Kingston, or everyone else, who thought, wrote that it was Colonel Light (calling him "the founder", "the founding father", .
Second question. WAS I THE ONLY ONE who did not know that the city plan of Adelaide was incorporating masonic messages from the start, genetically imprinted, consciously and deliberately?
Dan Brown in his "Lost Symbol" did not mean to cause all my disturbance. But when someone like myself worked with the city plan for so long and did not realize that - is it a shame or an ignorance of the non-involved person?, For years I was staring at the openly and honestly revealed symbolic Eye in the very center of it (Queen Victoria Square), rays (streets - Anzac Hwy, Port Road, North East Rd, Glen Osmond, etc) running in all symbolically prescribed directions, and many other messages sitting right there, on the map of the City I call my home I jumped right into the archives. Was W. Light anyhow connected with Masonic Order? Checking dates, events, schedules - no, he was as follows: hunting, sick, very sick, not participating. GS Kingston? The very first line I've read was: "Sir George Strickland Kingston carried the warrant for the Lodge of Friendship to South Australia". And three seconds later: "Freemasonry has been a part of South Australian life since planning of the colony commenced in 1834, prior to arrival of the first British settlers in 1836." And 10 minutes later: Masonic Order presented the plan for the future city in the State of South Australia.
Answers:
My dear late friend whom I miss so much - Professor of Architectural History Don Langmead was correct. The Plan of Adelaide was created in London under the direct rule of Masonic Order with GS Kingston's participation.
Decoding symbolic messages was another exciting page in the genetic of my beloved home City.
