I can't stop collecting books I love in different translations. HELP.
The Japanese translation of Life of Pi arrived on the mail today (plus two bento books for small children <3). Sure, they're used books, but...
On Sunday I bought a used Le Petit Prince book in Spanish (free shipping deal! no tax!). Do I read Spanish? No.
I already have nine different translations* (three of them different English versions) plus the original French. I should have had four different Chinese translations, but one of my friends borrowed one and never returned it. Am still a bit annoyed because that was actually my fav. Chinese translation (The Beijing one has a lot of "R"s).
I now have Life of Pi in English, Chinese and Japanese. I have the UK & Japanese** versions for The Demon's Lexicon. I have the Chinese Half-Blood Prince (half-Chinese and half-White! All for the unbelievable price of $49.95! Kidding.)
...it's a good thing I don't fall in crazy love with books that easily. Fall in like***, yes.
P.S. Manga doesn't count. Buying them in Chinese/Japanese/SekkritLanguageofTheUniverse is CHEAPER than buying them in English. These days I get my manga fix from bookstores and scanlations neways.
* Need to update that 2006 picture. And I'm not counting the two extra used English paperbacks I picked up. Just in case I want to pimp them out lend 'em out.
** ...alright I'll admit it. It's mostly because of the wondrous cover by Hiromu Arakawa. I'm eager to see what the second cover will look like *_*
