Buffy woke up to the sound of the phone ringing. She groggily grabbed for it and nearly hit Cordelia who was still sharing the bed with her.
William's head peaked up from the mat beside her bed and she almost patted his head before grabbing the phone. God what time was it anyway, three in the morning...
"Wh... What...?"

“Buffy, there’s…” Something was breaking in the background and Buffy could hear Faiths breath stop for a second
”Bad Willow, bad!”
Something more broke.
“Sorry for calling so late, it’s just that the bitch has been keeping me up all night and I only just noticed the time.”
Then aiming herself away from the phone.
”Willow what the hell do you think you’re doing?!”

More noises, sounds of shrieking.
”Buffy please, I need your help. Willow nooooo!”
Then silence.

Buffy sat there, the phone in her hands, not sure what to think. The connection was gone. Someone put the phone on the hook. She eventually got out of her bed, sat there, staring at the phone, wondering what to do. William was looking at her, sitting up. She’d managed to sneak him up earlier, too unsure of letting him stay in the room with Xander, even chained up.

Cordy had complained, but Buffy had easily cut her off, telling her that if she didn’t agree, she could just go home, that way Xander could get Dawn’s room. It had instantly stopped her arguments. Cordy seemed restless, worrying in her sleep. Buffy wasn’t sure what… when Cordy flinched up.
“God no. Faith!”

Buffy stared at her as Cordy jumped out of the bed, her hands on her head.
”No it can’t be, can’t be, it’s not real, not real. Can’t be real.”
Then Cordy started grabbing her clothes, not even saying a word to her roommate.

“Cordy what’s going on?”

“We have to go.”

“Go where?”

“Faith’s place.”

“Cordelia!”

“Look don’t ask me how I know, but if we don’t hurry up to Faiths place now, both her and her parents are dead.”

"Cordy, how?"
That's when Cordelia started crying.
"Please don't tell anyone, please, it doesn't even happen all that often, it's just. I don't want my life to end."

"You have visions?"
Buffy couldn't believe it, staring at Cordy in awe. It was rare that, a seer, rarer even than slayers. They were usually found early in life, kept away from all distractions and trained to use their abilities for the greater good. A seer was probably one of the most precious gifts a society could get and for Cordy to be one and not give in to her calling came close to treason.

“We have to go. We have to go now.”
Buffy stayed silent and got dressed. She ordered William to stay in her room and went downstairs to get a stake or a whip from the basement. Xander looked up, all flustered when she came down. He needed only to see what they were taking before joining them. His pyjamas were decent enough to go on the street in.

William stood in the door, staring after them as they left.

Spike wondered if he should have told Buffy about the sound of screaming that he’d heard in the background noise of the call. She probably already knew. He sat on the bed, hugging his legs. She hadn’t told anyone yet, hadn’t betrayed him and with everyone but Joyce and Dawn gone, he had a perfect chance to escape, so why didn’t he feel like taking it?

Before he’d have just gone back to bed, but he found himself worried. Who knows what was going on at Faith’s, that bitch’s, place right now? Spike hated her, hated her attitude and hated the way she looked at him like a piece of meat. But Buffy would care and so did he. His head hurt, thinking about Faith, about wanting to see her die and feeling pain in his head when he thought like that. Bad head.

He looked up when he saw Dawn entering the room, wiping her hand over her eyes, still half asleep. He scooted over and she joined him on the bed, falling asleep almost as soon as she put her head down on his chest. He brushed his fingers through her hair, impossibly touched by the sign of trust.

Buffy knocked on the door, pressed the bell and finally kicked the door open when no one answered. Xander was coming in right behind them and Cordy instantly ran up to the first floor, as if she knew where she was going. Even though unlike Buffy, she’d never been in here.

Buffy’s eyes kept being pulled to the red on the stairway, blood. The whole living rooom downstairs was a disaster, broken glass, broken furniture. There was a shoe sticking out from under one of the turned over couches. Xander ran up to it, pushing the couch out of the way while Buffy followed Cordy up the stairs.

She turned around when she heard a gasp of panic coming from Xander. One of Faiths sisters was spread out in her own blood. What was her name again, Chastity. Buffy barely knew her, usually locked in her room studying, dressed like a catholic school girl in her uniform when she did come out. Some people rebelled by going Goth, Chastity had rebelled by going Christian.

Buffy hurried upstairs. Blood trailed along the walkway, up to the bathroom. Cordy was standing in the doorway, frozen. Buffy almost had to push her out of the way to see what was going on. Faith lay there, still alive, just barely, but how…. She was chained up, gagged and naked, Buffy could see cuts all over her body.

“Willow, she… Willow.”
Buffy tried to hold Faith as she undid the chains and took out the penisgag stuck in the other slayers mouth.
”Buffy you have to watch out, Willow she’s… “

“It’s ok I’m here.”

“She’s going to your place, said she was going to visit William. You have to…”
Faith let go of her last breath and died in her arms.

There were sounds downstairs. Spike slowly got up. Dawn looked up at him, still tired, still half asleep. He brought a finger to his lips and she didn’t say a word. More awake with every second. Glass breaking. He got out of the bed and opened the door, not yet heading downstairs. Waiting.

Joyce’s door opened and Spike looked at her before looking down again. Willow stood there, her face covered in blood. She was wearing some of Faiths clothes.
“Hello William, you don’t mind sharing the treats do you?”
