11. The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkein
We began this book for Family Reading a while ago. With outage, we've had to stop weeks on end sometimes between chapters/stopping points. Yesterday, we finally got back to Hobbiton and Bag End. The only negative thing I have to say about this one (that we all enjoyed immensely) was the never-ending ending. I realize there is a lot to be done once a dragon is slain, but my gods, really? We literally clapped and cheered as Bilbo uttered the last line and performed the last action of the book; I am not sure if it was because of the good note of the ending or that we finally finished it after so long...
