It's SNOWING!

Feb 08, 2007 11:51

There's like.. at least 4/5 inches of snow in our garden! I actually got woken up early with the rest of the flatmates having a snowball fight outside. WOW.. this is the heaviest snow i've seen here. Crazy. I suck at snowball fights.

I went to go see Underneath the Lintel last night with Kim. The play stars Richard Schiff (TOBY from the West Wing) as a Dutch Liberian who kind of looses it. This liberian then gets obsessed over a book that gets turned in, that is 113yrs over due - he wants to fine the guy, and in order to fine him, he must find him. And it leads to this whole "Da Vinic Codesque" chase around the world. In the end he hypothesizes that the man he is looking for is the mythical "Wandering Jew" - always in cognito, always moving. The Jew was "cursed" by Jesus himself to never rest and never be identified. Yea.. so it's like an atlas struggled kind of story. Honestly, the play was really depressing, all about how unmemorable we all are. But i liked it. AND "TOBY" put in such a great performance - i was moved. =D

Then.. we went to the LSE bar. Whoa.. it was karaoke night and sports night, so crazy. So different from SOAS. You couldn't tell that LSE had any "minorities" it was packed with white men, whereas the school (being so technical of course) is loaded with South Asians and East Asians. You can really tell where people fit, or not. I don't think i'm ever going to fit there really. It's interesting because just earlier in class our professor was talking about the difference between our two institutions - and how LSE people are just geeky. haha. I love this little rivalry we have. But it's so true, we're so different.

La la la.. i'm going to head into school now, see if i can get any work done today. It's ANNA birthday so i'll have to come back early to celebrate! wOOHOO!
