Spring Break!!!

Apr 06, 2009 22:39

Wow~

What an intense week and a half!  LOL (This is gonna be a LONG entry!)

First, Becky is finally in Japan!!  So I got to hang out with her some~!  :D  And then April came~!!!  I hadn't seen April in over a year, so it was pretty exciting!  She stayed at my place for a few nights, we had lots of funtimes -- met up with Jackie and Nick and Sean and Nao (it was like a big IU reunion) and had TONS of funtimes!!  Adam flew in later for a quick trip on his way back to America from Thailand~  I missed all of them a lot, so it was great finally catching up!! :D

After that I had two farewell get-togethers for two of my schools -- just staff only.  At one we had a nice boxed lunch and they said some nice things to me and I had to give a little speech.  Later that day was the farewell get-together at my favorite school.  I had already cried in front of them before I left on my last school day, so I told myself I wouldn't cry this time.  Haha~~  I only got a little teary-eyed.  As much as I love that school though, I think it's best that I'm not back there -- several people are leaving (teachers change every year -- they can only stay 3-4 years at one school) and so I think I might actually be disappointed if I worked there again.  Plus, I'm kind of interested in dating a guy there, and it would be impossible if we still worked together... LOL  Things happen for a reason...?

Anyhoo!!  I was invited to two Hanami parties (flower viewing~~).   One was on Saturday with a guy I work with named Takashi and his friends from high school.  Popo, Daichi, Sheena, and Becky came along too.  We met at a park and drank beer all day and ate foods and talked.  Then we went to two Izakaya (Japanese style bars) and drank more LOL.  That's pretty much the essence of Hanami~~ lol.  Drink, talk, lookit cherry blossoms.  It was fun~~  This was like the third time we've all been out together.  Glad I was at least able to make ONE friend at that horrible school.  LOL >__ <;

The other hanami, I was looking forward to from the moment Toshiki asked me to go!! XD First of all, it was with 5 of the teachers from my favorite school,  2ndly, I get along with them SO WELL,  3rdly, they're all hilarious, and  last, I just knew it was gonna be fun~ XD  Maimai drove his parents car, and Keiko drove her car -- we did janken (rock, paper, scissors) to decide who would be in which car, and I ended up with the other two girls, so the guys were in the car behind us.

Let's have a fun picture-story time, shall we?

Keiko was a crazy driver~~ lol.  Poor Maimai couldn't keep up~!!! XD
This is a hill with lots of Sakura lining the street in Kamiooka.

The guys in the car behind us.  If you look closely, Maimai is driving, Toshiya's in the front waving, and Toshiki is giving the peace sign from the back seat.  XD

We drove to Kamakura~!  Isn't it pretty??  We ate some delicious (and famous!) curry rice!!  I had pork.  It was soooo good!!

Maimai's back.  XD

So many sakura trees!!!

The lanterns say "Kamakura Matsuri (festival)"

Kamakura is awesome.  I want to go back.  ....Toshiya kept trying to jump into my pictures... lol

So pretty!! :D  They asked me what I feel when I look at Sakura.  I told them that I cried last year the first time I saw them.  They said, "Wow!! You cried?!"  And I explained that I had FINALLY made it to Japan after so many interviews and after months of working a crappy job to save money, and I was finally starting my own life.  And the fact that these trees are such a symbol of Japan's beauty and have been blossoming for hundreds of years... I just got overwhelmed and cried.  LOL.  They seemed satisfied with that answer.

There were a LOT of people there for flower viewing~~

LOL -- Toshiya is totally looking right at me!!  Stop that!! LOLOLOL

:D  I love Japan!!! XD

We did janken again for who would sit in what car, but it ended up being just me and Toshiki that switched places.  So I was in the back of the car with Toshiya and this is Maimai driving intently.  XD  It's a good pic, I think LOL.  He's a good driver.

We followed Keiko, Kanapon, and Toshiki in the other car.

Toshiya ordered the biggest curry rice you could get.  It was a MOUNTAIN.  He was so full and sleepy in the car~~ LOLOLOL

We took a nice, pretty drive by the ocean!  That's Enoshima~~

The ocean takes my breath away when I look at it.  I can't swim!! D:

When he wasn't belting out songs at the top of his lungs, he was falling asleep in the car.  LOL.  Then I'd poke him in the back of the head and he'd go, "Aliponnnnnnnn~~~"  LOL

Maimai was too busy keeping his eyes on the road to smile for the camera.  LOL  Hey, we were stuck in traffic....

We arrived at Sakurazaka -- a popular place in Harajuku!  Toshiya is in like all my pictures, wtf~~ lol And that's Kanapon there too!  LOL

Sakurazaka!!!  It's was really pretty~~~

GORGEOUS!! :D

Me and Toshiki.  ..... <3

Me and da boys!!  Oops I'm blinking... dammit!  XD

I love these people so freaking much.  They made my time at Soubuyama awesome and made me feel like I was a part of their staff.  I can't even explain in words how much gratitude I feel towards them for making me a part of their group.  I'm really going to miss working with them.  But I know that we'll still get together and hang out, so I'm trying not to cry again as I'm typing this!!! ROFL!!  I am such a cry baby~~~

The sakura was really really pretty~~~

Close-up!!  (and it's my new icon!! XD)

Really pretty with the green~~

:D

But Toshiki almost got hit by a car here!! D:  Ahh~~~!  D:

Hahaha~~  アホ達~~  They're dumb XDDD  But I love them anyways.  Actually, maybe I love them 'cause they ARE so dumb. XDD

Man, that was SO MUCH FUN!  Toshiki planned the whole thing and helped Maimai navigate through Tokyo~~  Before we got to Sakurazaka, Keiko left us, and so Maimai, Toshiya, Me, Kanapon, and Toshiki all piled into one car and headed to Sakurazaka -- After Sakurazaka in Harajuku, we went to Shibuya to this ramen place Toshiki knew and we ate the MOST DELICIOUS RAMEN I HAVE EVER HAD!!!!  Dude, it was so freaking good and I have NO IDEA how to get back there 'cause we were in a car!! LOL  Tokyo looks a lot different from a car than from the trains or walking.  We were driving through Tokyo and took the Rainbow Bridge and Toshiki kept telling them to save this Kobukuro song called Tsubomi for the exact right moment, so as we were angling up onto the bridge, the climax of the song hit, we were all singing at the top of our lungs, and there all of Tokyo came into view with the glowing red and orange Tokyo Tower in the center of it all.  It was perfect!!  I'll never forget it~!  The whole city lit up as we drove by, the windows rolled down, a nice cool breeze blowing through the car, all of us singing this really pretty song, and just together with that group of fun people -- it was a blast.  :D  The whole time,  Toshiya in the front seat was staring out the window saying, "WOOAHHH  TOKYO SUGEEE~~ SUUUGEEE!! ~~~"  and Toshiki was explaining how when he drove his bike the same route, he saw this and thought, "Wow, I live in a pretty awesome place~"  And I was thinking the same thing~~  How lucky I was to be experiencing that.

Car drives are the best.

It was so much fun.  They dropped me off at Yokohama station, and Toshiki told me, "Let's go again!"  And Toshiya mentioned that there's a welcoming party for Soubuyama on the 28th and that I should come.  So, I'll most likely be going~~

Anyways, this weekend was a complete blast~!!!

If you want to see the pics from the first Hanami on Saturday they're here ->

I just decided I'd upload the one adventure and it was quite the task!!

Hope you enjoyed!!

Sorry for the long entry.

I start back to school on Thursday.  My two new schools should be okay.  And Iwasaki will be fun, I'm sure.

Talk to you later!!

p.s., my dad has been in the hospital 'cause he almost had another heart attack.  he had double-bypass, and is actually supposed to come home tomorrow, but he'll have a lot of recovering still to do, so if you could all keep him in your thoughts, I'd appreciate it!! :D
