Hee, real life has been pretty tiring as of late. Hanna has dragged me to play inside street hockey (or is it floorball?) on a couple occasions and my muscles really hurt. On monday we butted into a session where students from the Visamäki area play. It was mainly guys and we played for like two hours. I was dead after that, but managed to even score once, so I guess I'm not that rusty. Today we participated the competetion between classes. Funny thing is we couldn't recruite other girls to play so we had to attend the guys' league with the guys from our class. Apathetic as they are, Hanna even signed up for being captain and named our team (VC WeeCee due to the fact that the guys had no suggestions). The game ended in a draw. I scored twice. Ever since I got back from there I've just been chilling indoors, watching Heroes, Claymore & Æon Flux the series. Thanks to my dear friend I now have some form of sports 4 days a week with one resting day in between. Man, how will I survive kendo?
I'd completely forgotten how slowly this series moves. What really interested me in the episode though was the Parkman-Molly situation and (of course) SARK! ...I mean David Anders. He was hilarious. Do I love his character or what? Otherwise, too much of Claire and too little of almost everyone else. Where is Nikki? Why did everyone get divorced? I wish Nathan had had more of a storyline than just moping around. Mr Bennet still irks me, I really want him gone. And I miss Ted weirdly. Ando's still cute. And creepy flying guy stalking Claire wasn't my idea of an interesting plotline. Gladly we're seeing more females in Heroes.
I've been utterly hooked on Blood+ for the past week. I'm up to like 35 episodes which leaves me about 15 to still watch. I like vampire series and this has been very creative. It has good characters, some decent action, tragedy and gore (yay!). I suppose the animation isn't my favourite, but the music's good too. OPs and EDs (among others Angela Aki's "This Love") and general music is approriate. Bad guys win the prize on being the most annoying bunch ever. I have no fixations, which is weird in a series such as this. Anyway. Quality stuff.
well other than the scene with Clare and Jeane, I was just put off. Great build up and as soon as they deviate from the manga it falls on its ass becomes mindless action in the vein of...
PRISCILLA: Youma! Youma! I'll kill you! (x10000)
CLARE: I'll never forgive you! I'll never forgive you! (x10000)
And then they beat the shit out of one another and there's even no real solution to the whole thing. Just ugh! Whyyyy? Why not just leave it at the 7 years gap and then make OVAs or a second season some day? Fuckers. *annoyed*
And finally have I mentioned how much I love Æon Flux the series? It's weird, it's kind of immoral, highly original, has wonderful character design and chemistry. You never know what's gonna happen next or if Æon even survives the episode. I totally see myself in Trevor. He's my idol. Not that I mind Æon's wardrobe and questionable loyalties either. This is my cyberpunk love. It's chaotic, weird, beautiful and includes graphic violence and sexuality, including fetishism and domination, which never hurts ;)
Neverminding the film that butchered both Trevor and Æon. There's no trace of the morally ambiguous dictator Trevor in the film. Even Æon is a Jovovich version of a superheroine and not the smirking devil that walks around in skimpy outfits and would clone herself to get rid of the dilemma of actually wanting to be with Trevor and wanting to fight him at the same time (did I love that episode or what?). Siiiigh. The good old love and hate card has never been this delicious.
I think I'm gonna watch more. Probably late into the night so I can struggle to wake up again next morning ;)
