Anyway... I got the school brochures today and had a fun few hours reading them. I'm not going to school apparently, I'm going to partying hell of drunken people in black overalls. Good to noe. Don't know what I was expecting of a damn polytechnic. In Finland they have this whole thing about everyone wearing overalls when they go out to party. Adds up the sense of community or whatever.
Well besides that... I've been making a few plans as of late. Partly just deciding what I leave behind and what I take with me (no, really not dragging over a hundred dvds with me there), what forms to fill, what things to get for the starting semester... AND looking through the possibilities in the city I'll be moving into. Guess what I found out? Oh yes...
KENDO. You can do kendo in there! For anyone not feeling intelligent at the moment, it's Japanese swordfighting they practise with these bamboo swords (sticks) called shinai. Anyway, I've talked about starting it since I realized it's possible in Finland. So maybe I haven't aloud about it, mainly because I spent a year in the middle of nowhere where it was impossible to start such a hobby, but now it's possible. Mom has agreed to pay for the basic course and the stick and the other equipment if I ever get that far. Shiny.
There's also a possibility to start playing floorball actively on school grounds. I'd definitely love that. I used to play it every week back in junior high. I freaking loved it. Plus it'd keep me in shape again. And I'd meet people. I tend to go all hermit on everyone once I'm settled in so I'm keen on preventing that. Plus healthy action against all the drinking should be sobering.
Okay so I do have studies in that place too... occasionally... when I'm not drinking. *face*
Ignore my cruel sarcasm. I'm simply joyous of how things have worked out. Student life should be fun... when I'm drinking. *rolls eyes*
