so today joann, nicole and i went to study for finals at Starbucks from about 4-8...life was good, and i was happily sitting in a comfy brown chair when joann came running over to me...telling me how funny this lady was as she danced in the corner of the cofee house. She wasnt just..moving..she had these awkward arm gestures..as if...she was really feeling the music....like it had jumped into her...now im a dancer, and i love music..i secretly do the same thing in front of my mirror at home almost every night..so why was i laughing at her too?....
i guess so many people are afraid to be themselves..its almost disgusting... i was so jealous of this beautiful lady...who was inspired to feel the music and release her feelings through dance..it was beautiful....its almost like when im at church...i can tell that so many people are soo afraid of what people will think if they lift up their hands and praise God during worship...i felt like one of them, scared..and timid...not knowing what to do.. which is soo awkward beuacse when im praising God, its like hes in me..lifting my hands for me..like the line from that one song "awestruck we fall to our kneees as we humbily proclaim... you are amazing God".. its so weird, beuacse so much of the time, when i DO praise God, i just cry...out of pleasure, and comfot, and joy, and acceptance..and privalage.. so why dont i apply that to my everyday life? is it becuase God is such a powerful word..that its almost like you 'have' to praise God the way you do?
so if lifting your hands, smiling, crying, and singing as loud as you can- even if you do suck..is what comes natural to me when i worship God, then why didnt i join that lady while she was dancing? she was so free..and she just looked happy to be alive...if i can apply my feelings to God and not care what people think..then why cant i dance in a dark corner...yet still feel embarassed...it just kinda struck me today...
