So, today I competed in probably one of the most memorable meets of my life.
The day started off slow, going into the school early was not my cup of tea bc I didn't feel well, but whatev. Kinda annoyed how we didn't start until like, 10, when it was stressed that the run was starting at 9... that's got to be my biggest pet peeve, and if it continues like that through hell week, we won't get out till god only knows when, so lets pray we can actually start when we say we're going to this week. I only got to stay till like number five, but whateverr. The munckin scene got a little screwy with sets & with the cute little ones using the actual things for Tiff's trick, but it was so cute. Of course, we kept oursleves occupied in the pit, we always can do that, but it was a little annoying, lol. But whateverr, it happens... The cast looks soooo good in their costumes & I am jealous of every single munchkin and what they get to wear. A lot of them have these rainbow tights that I would kill for, hahaha.
And anyways, the meet was in New Jersey... We made good timing, we had to be there at 145 and we got there at 1, so that gave me plenty of time to undo my curlers which werre a pain in the ass to undo but my hair came out really good. haha. Um, warmups didn't actually get going till about 215ish, annoyyyyying. Meet started around three. Our team was split into two different squads and I got to be with the little ones, hahahaha. It was so much fun. We started on beam, and the gym got new beams this year that weren't slippery, they were so bad last year. My beam routine kicked major ass. And I wanted people to know when I was up there I meant business. Hah. And um, yeah. I hit it, completely & totally. When I mounted, my hand support start to unvelcro. And at the time, I really regretted stopping after my scale to re-velcro it, but now I don't even care. I would have never made my backhand if I didn't because it would have hurt too much. hahah, I won beam, so I'm glad I did it. At first, they flashed an 8.1 for my score and I went to the bathroom and a bunch of the moms were like that can't be your score blah blah and I actually got really upset about it. I had a few wobbles, granted, but nothing major. I stuck my backhandspring and my dismount. So, I was really confused. Turns out they scored me as a gold level, instead of sliver, because on all the line ups my name was twice since I do floor as a gold specialist. haha, so, that made a huge difference and I ended up with a 9.25. Floor was sooo stressful, but defintely fun. My gold routine wasn't amazing, but it was there, and it qualfied me to states and that's all I needed to do. So, I'll clean it up later. I know now I can do it in front of a judge and get a somehwat decent score- 8.6. My sliver routine was hit, too, my 1st pass was aWeSoMe, considering I couldn't do it in warmups. The floor was reaaaaally bad and reaaaally painful. I had to really try to tumble on this floor and it killed my shins so badly. EEK, and I was the only one in gold competiting today that didn't do a full. Hahaha and I still beat some of the other girls. hahahahahahahha. I ended up with a 9.1 on floor for sliverr, so that was niiioce. Vault was okay. The judge was insanely hard. The runway was wood. Just with carpet over it and veryyyy thin carpet. Omgg, it hurt soooo badly. And the worse part was, you couldn't let that get you. You HAD to run full out bc if you didn't your vault was just that much more bad. EEEK, it hurt my ankles a lot, but I only had to vault like three times. I got an 8.9, with a step on both vaults, but it was a teeeny tinyyyyyyyy step. And the judge also was reeeally hard. Whatev. Bars sucked hahaha. I got an 8.0 but I did things I've neevr done when I competed and it kind of annoyed me. I was on the verge of tears after I went because I was having such a good meet and doing stupid things that I did on bars just upset me, but I just ended up not caring. Hah, it's so much easier. But whateverrr, I had an awesome meet. Everyone had an awesome meet, actually. For bronze, our gym had someone in that 1st place all-around spot. And everyone followed, too, with 2nd/3rd/4th & so on... We did well, really well. I ended up with 1st place on vault, beam( ?!?!?!??!?) & floor & then 3rd place bars haha. and 1st place all-around. I won the meet for my age group & level! Omggg, I am soo unbelievablyy happy with myself. I got 3rd place floor for gold level and that's prettttty nice. Last year, it took me like three meets to start placing in my specialist level. Haha. And then the biggest & probably best surprise of the day was getting 1st place as a team overall. There were five, maybe six teams there & they hand out top three teams, and we got 1st, and that's just amazing, considering we got 3rd place (out of three) at Team Cup a month earlier. Squeeee! I am in love with my team. We all had such a good meet today and I am so proud of everyone.
It's meets like these that make all the pain, nerves, tears, ugly annoying embarassing curlers worth it.................
I'm reaally pleased with just the way everything in the meet went today.... I've gotten 1st place before, but I've never won the whole meet for my age group/level. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh.... And Gold Medal Centereach getting 1st place!?..... FUCK YEAH! <333333333333333333333333333333333333333333
