Photorealism project

Right!
Today I'm going to delve into my University work and share some stuff with you guys.

My medium of art has always primarily been painting, it's just what I'm most comfortable doing, especially when painting people.
You guys have seen some of my work that I do in my spare time, but I haven't really shown you any of my serious work.

At Uni at the moment, I was given a choice of themes for my painting project:
1) Monochrome
2) Texture
3) Colour
4) Tone
Now, me being me, I've obviously picked up colour as one of my fields and I'm thinking about using tone for the other, just so I can look at opposite sides of the spectrum.
As part of that, I want to focus my work on photorealism (paintings done to look like photographs), and how photographs beautify people, and then use that beautification in my own paintings.

And guess what! I'm going to try and include digital paintings this time!

I haven't done this before in my professional work, but I like to use it for experimentation of colour and such, so I'm giving it ago.
The last digital portrait I did, was my self-portrait (blog post here), which was during my Christmas break, over a month ago. It's about time I did another one.

So here's a WIP:

It's taken from a magazine cut of Hamasaki Ayumi (found here: http://loveayumi.com/gallery/displayimage.php?album=556&pos=5).
I like the detail of the image and I kinda wanted a bit of a challenge to start off with, so yeah, here we go!

Oh yeah!
One last note.
I've got one, repeat, ONE, What's in a Name image to finish and then I'll be posting up the last four together!
Hooray! They're nearly finished!
I'll do one last image to round it off after that (USUK centred ^-^), and that'll be the end of the series art for that fic!
Thanks for the support my lovelies~!
