ooooh he's a magic man...got magic hands...
Sitting here lonely and caffinated by the phone...waiting for my 'rents to call me from Uptown Cafe and bring me a scrumptiously delicious lunch.
So...Its been an interesting week. The highlights: Monday lying in the grass, high on sunlight. It was awesome. Blasting BobMarley & the Wailers Babylon by Bus.
Thursday jumping 3ft with Carter. It was awesome. Carter made it possible. I need a cheerleading squad for my jumping these days. 3ft jumps look so damn big until you go over the first one. But because Carter flips my pancakes, she was all helping me and stuff. And It was awesome. My pony was good too, except she runs through all the fucking plastic rails. If they were wood Faith would pick her feet up.
Friday I went with Allie Uptown, wandered on Miami campus, picking violets and gossipping. Tsk. Mmmm...chocolate milkshake. Bought an adorable scarf...blue w/ white polkadots!! hehehe. We also had a near-death experience with beer-can art. There were hundreds of them taped into wooden frames at the gates of the slant walk, and we were pondering there significance when one fell almost on top of us. We were sprayed with beer and scared for our lives, also being laughed at by some random college dude.
Then I dashed off for a good time at work. It wasn't bad, I did wait sheets. There was a ginormous thunderstorm and I had to cross the street and almost got struck by lightning/washed away/flattened by a semi. Then I went bowling. 1 strike and 2 spares, all for Trudy and Elise. Sweet. Then dancing and chatting with longlost pals.
Saturday was lots of homework, barning, and then finally going to see Cake and gomez with garrett. SWEEEEET!!
We got to the Maddison at about 7, stood freezing in line for 20 minutes. I got my picture taken by the 97.3 dudes, cuz we were all excited about our underage x's. Hey. I got to be straight edge for a night, how cool. And I wore my short skirt/long jacket. It rocked.
Gomez opened. I thought I might have heard of this wonderful UK band before, and I had. The song "trying to get myself arrested" or w/e used to be on the radio...back in the days of 97X. Then after a bitch of a wait Cake came on. It was awesome. They opened with Sheep go to heaven, Goats go to hell. And it rocked. I loved it. I think Ga liked them, too. It was an interesting crowd. Old and young and a swedish dude next to me and for a while a cute guy from louisville...there with his g/f :(
But they did 2 encores, even though the lead singer had bronchitis. It seems to be a popular sickness this year. I loved the cowbell buzzy thing that makes that awesome noise... I want one to play with when I'm bored. The lead singer told us they don't use a set list cuz they don't want to be machines. They are cool in an anti-consumer funky kind of way. And It was goodness all the way around.
then we had some Steak n Shake at 1 am. Strawberry milkshake and a cool hat.
And now today I am here to do an english project. Bleh. Yuck.
