Self-righteousness
Some people really piss me off...especially self-righteous people. I
read this article in my campus newspaper where this 1980 graduate
claimed he was the only one on campus who cared about the horrible
tragedy in New Orleans. Here's the 'opinion piece'....
Honestly being a student, and according to Mr. Wilk a 'priviliged
brat', I had no idea that the hurricane had hit land or that anything
was happening....i get my news from The State News....which obviously
wouldnt have been printed until the next day....as do most people I
know. Obviously we all don't care...I mean our university has
only sponsored students from affected universities and offered
positions to professors at the same universities until the situation is
sorted out. There have been countless rallys and prayer vigils
and groups urging students to donate money and goods for the affected
people. This was a natural disaster and while there was nothing
for us to do to prevent it, I think everyone here wants to help
out. Mr. Self-Righteous himself should hop a plane and help out
personally since he seems to think he is above us all. Anyone who
cares to make a generalization like that about an entire generation
obviously is ignorant and being a former student of MSU himself he paid
a little too much money for an education that seems so lacking.
