1st Semester being a SC4 nursing student: Facts
Survior: Nursing School Edition (the real game)
-We have all come close together, like a family
-No one but us knows what we're going through...
-Our families don't care that we did our first wound dressing.
-You will or have already invested in a backpack/suitcase on wheels.
-The first day is stressful but it's not as scary as you think.
-Coming to school in our PJ's the first week.
-You know lifes bad when 1 class has three different parts & teachers.
-You used a planner for oh... the first 5 days. Then it got lost in the other books.
-You were forced to buy 4 reference books, in the end you used 1.
-Vending machine food almost sounds tasty! YUM!
-We all know who the "Girl with the small weak bladder is".
-Sitting in the hallway doing our homework minutes before class is useful.
-5:30am is way to early to even be alive... let alone at Marwood.
-Housekeepers like to ask us if we can "See the wet floor sign?"
-Our response... Yes thank you for being concerned for my safety. @_@
-Our pictures on our name badges remind us of the Hulk & Beetlejuice.
-We always stress before one of Schucks BIG tests... for no reason.
-All of us are well aware of the chance of it ending...very quickly.
-Potato soup in the Cafe is to die for!
-All of our ventures to Pizza Hut & Teds for lunch where we laughed & cried.
-Parking on the street @ Marwood and walking a 1/2 mile keeps us in shape!
-Calling each other because we found good parking spots @ school.
-The endless trips to Subway and running over the curb every time!
-Our loving, supportive Hockey Boys ;)
-The venting chats we have when things get rough...
-Supporting each other through everything!
-"When things get tough, the tough get going!"
-Always looking out for each other...
-Reasurring ourselves that we CAN do this!
-Panicing because we aren't going to make it through finals...
-Waiting patiently as our grades slowly were revealed.
-Standing outside in a huddle just talking and hugging...
-Calling each other when we found out we passed...and failed.
-Realizing that it is possible for one or more of us to not make it.
-Wanting to be sooo happy that we made it but at the same time, sad for those who didn't.
-Now we prepare ourselves for what is ahead.
-And never forgetting what we leave behind.
We're on our way to becoming nurses guys... this is reality. We have proven ourselves to those instructors, we have proven that we are stronger than anything they can throw at us. We've taken their emotional abuse, we've caught their curveballs they've thrown at us. The worst has got to be over.
For those of us moving ahead, stay close and we'll be okay. Never stop laughing!
For those of us leaving, I wish you the best of luck. Never give up on your dreams!
