Today has been my first real day off since school started. Rehearsal has been getting more intense. We have dancers now in between some of the scenes. They have nothing to do with the actual play, at all, but they have pretty cool dances. There is this one ridiculously gay black guy. If you go, I guarantee you will be able to spot him in a second, it's great. My last entry was done at rehearsal while I was waiting for one of the girls in my scene to show up. Manny is a boy from scene one. It was one of those "I'm bored.. look, there's a computer" moments.
So, I have stitches now. I went with Ivy to Carlos' to pick up pantaloons for my character. His granddad’s car has a license plate with a bent out corner. I was saying hi and completely focused on what was across from me, not directly in front of me. I walked right into the license plate, like a tard. At first, I was just like, "ahh, I hit myself." I looked down just to see if it was started to bruise or whatever, but when I looked down you could see a cut. It wasn't bleeding. It was just white and you could make out the different layers of skin. Carlos ran upstairs to get ouchies stuff. From the middle of the cut, a drop of blood started coming out, then more, and then there was like this flow of blood that went down my leg and on to the concrete. It didn't hurt at all. Ivy and I were kinda laughing cuz of how embarrassing the moment was. "Hey, I'm just gonna stop by to borrow some pan..Oh my god! I have been slain!!" See, it's not even a cool, death defying, action hero stitches story. Anyway, Carlos came out with some anti-pain/anti-bacterial spray, a towel (which I ruined) and a big band aid. It was nice being played doctor on. I felt really safe and so comforted around both of them. I soaked through that band-aid by the time I got home. My parents made go get checked out. I honestly didn't even think I would need stitches. The cut still didn’t hurt. It didn't hurt while they cleaned it out or did anything. What did hurt was when the doc jabbed a four inch long needle into the wound to numb it. I wanted to just grab him by the collar like, "Come on, man! It's a frickin' open wound!" but I bit my hand instead. After the numbing, everything was great. I was just watching him make the stitches all dumb faced and amazed that I couldn't feel anything. Here's what my stitches look like now. This picture totally doesn’t do the grossness justice.
Last night was Corey's party. It was excellent. Thanks Corey. I went with Senor Brandon and his best friend from Brownsville, Address. That guy's great. We took him to Chico's after, he liked it, but I take full credit in getting him to eat it like a man, grrrr. I had a good time at the Corey's, hanging out with Frances(such an awesome chick), climbing hills for no reason, watching Mike and Emo fight, and just seeing everyone... I had a great night. I was telling Joseph that we have to throw one for my birthday in September, but we will have party hats and a donkey piñata, and the whole shabam. That would be spectacular.
