This is a poem I wrote to Jaimee, spur-of-the-moment.
Permutation
I remember raindrops,
falling from your skin,
bearing little emblems,
of the pains you held within.
But now I see you standing,
alone, and yet so strong,
where nothing seems to worry you,
or where no one does you wrong.
I'd give anything to be beside you,
just like the days of old,
to hold you til the sun arises,
just like I've always told.
But now, we are so far apart,
on roads our fates decide,
now I'm the one raining down those tears,
praying for the storm to subside.
