so umm i heard the new Madonna album yesterday along with 7 million other people i presume. i was somehow pleasantly surprised by the content. admittedly it's not a great album, it would probably come in my bottom 5 if i was to list the albums however it has some very summery stuff in it. Not just that there are a few tracks that sound quite vintage Madonna as in like first album Madonna. Dance2Night is one of them. It could well have been a club track for Danceteria in the 80s. I quite like that one. The Beat Goes On is another one I quite like. It is the track that got leaked, what 8 months ago, and it was a Spanish guitar with pharrell beats track. The reworked version is again quite 80s and very memorable.
There are 2 other tracks that I quite enjoy Heartbeat (tho whenever I try to remember how it sounds the Steps song come to mind) and Miles Away. These two sound like they could have been from a Gwen Stefani album, kinda like 4 in the Morning, Cool vibed which makes them perfect for summer.
I am still not quite sure about the next single Give It To Me. I am curious to see how they will feed it to American radios. At the end of the day the purpose of this album was to win back the States but for the life of me I can't understand why they keep choosing the singles they are choosing. I thought you needed to have heavy beats or slushy stuff to go to number 1 in the States. Give It To Me sounds like neither, it sounds like a malfunctioning electrical equipment which builds up decent and would be a club hit but radio, i don't think so.
In summary Pharrell tracks sound like Pharrell tracks and Timba/Timber sound like Timba/Timber tracks so the album is not original but pleasant to listen to regardless.
