Velocifero

I am not sure about the sales or the impact of Ladytron's Witching Hour. I thought as an album it was superior to previous releases however I don't know if it performed well chart or sales wise. I remember it getting some sort of a good reception in the States as to top it, a remix album was released over there.

Earlier this week I was listening to Velocifero. The follow up to Witching Hour. I found the content of the album as well as the melodies are shamefully similar to Witching Hour. This is not a bad thing for a Ladytron fan I guess. It might even be a strategic move to duplicate the album to make an impact on people who missed out on Witching Hour however at the same time can be considered lazy. Also, as a whole it is very samey, the way Foals album is very samey. It's full of variations of a dark synth and drums mixture which bored me after the 7th song even though i was trying to like the album. It would have been very exciting if I hadn't had the Witching Hour. It's very club friendly but well outdated to today's standard. Basically, with the exception of 2-3 tracks (the one which has one of the guys singing on it in particular), it is an album I wouldn't listen to more than say 5 times.
