I WILL DEFINITELY READ THIS FOR IT IS AWESOME

(Also, shorter posts plz? As evidenced by my voracious appetite for sushi, I prefer everything in small tasty portions.)

HAHAHA IT REALLY IS KIND OF RIDICULOUS HOW SERIOUS I'M GETTING ABOUT IT

(I didn't know what people wanted? I mean, I'm fine either way. I was thinking maybe I should post the first little part so people could be like, "OKAY SURE" or "THIS BLOWS".)

OMG SUSHI <3 Completely off topic, but what do you think your favorite sushi roll is? :D

IT WILL BE A CHORUS OF "OKAY SURE"s AND "THIS IS MAGNIFICIENT BB GIMME MORE", I ASSURE YOU

I know this is going to sound totally boring but my favourite roll is cucumber. When I first started eating sushi I was intimidated by it and so I started on cucumber rolls, and though I've eaten lots of different kinds now I always go back to it ;)

I make it at home quite often too.

Also, there's this chinese buffet in town called Mandarin and they do fantastic tofu rolls . . . they deep fry the tofu or something so it's very crispy (but still kind of spongy - it's hard to describe the consistency except to say it's perfect) when you bite on it, I have no idea how they do it though. Anytime I try making my own with tofu it tastes blah.

OH GOSH BB MAKE MY EGO GO THROUGH THE ROOF AND ALL WHY DON'T YOU <3 <3 <3

I first started with California rolls, but I've always found the Philadelphia roll to be especially amazing. (Something about the cream cheese and the smoked salmon is just amazing for me!) I've never tried cucumber but I'll have to try it!

:D You make it at home? That sounds wonderful! I've thought about it but never tried it - is it difficult? (I would imagine getting the rice the right consistency is a little tricky.)

When I went to NJ we went to a fabulous, adorable little sushi restaurant and my friend got fried tofu that was absolutely delicious. Have you ever asked them what they do or what oils they use to fry it with?

I've never had cream cheese but I will try that soon :D

My first few rolls were complete disasters ;) Now I've sort of gotten the hang of it, though I still can't do fancy stuff like inside-out rolls like California ones or anything, it's still all very basics. The rice you can usually buy in stores, it's sticky by itself, especially once you let it cool a little :)

I did ask them at the restaurant, but they said it was a secret and they didn't want to tell people :/ Awh. I'm so useless with tofu, mostly. The only things I've managed to do with it is grill it (which was ok) and cube it for soup. I like it when I eat it in restaurants but when I'm cooking it just doesn't like me :p

:D I think it's delicious, and it's actually very popular between my friends and I.

Still, what a fabulous skill! Have you ever thought about having a sushi party with a few friends and teaching them how to make rolls? I didn't know the rice was naturally sticky, I always assumed you had to cook it a certain way! :D the things you learn!

D: Aww, I thought that was probably the reason. Tofu is a tricky beast, that's for sure! Have you made miso soup with it? Well, at least you're trying to cook it! I would just look at it and be like, "...noooope." I would just stick to my simple cooking skills like stir-frys and scrambled eggs, lol!

I definitely would do a sushi party except . . . this is kind of pathetic but I'm not even kidding when I say all my friends are on the internet :/ I'm a complete recluse. All my friends are scattered across the globe, just nowhere near here. I'm determined to make friends soon, though. Fingers crossed :p

Yeah, miso soup I made and it turned out superb! Oh, speaking of scrambled eggs, that's the one other thing I can do with tofu, tofu scramble. If you do it with spices (especially nutritional yeast, which tastes cheesy-savoury), and onions and mushrooms, it's a scrambled eggs kind of a deal that's very nice.

BB, if I cannot be part of your fabulous sushi party, I want you to post pictures of it! (Even if I can't attend, may I have an invite anyway? :D?) I'm sure there are several people near you who would love to be your friend, darling, you just need to meet them. <3

OH MY FRIEND WANTS TO MAKE IT SO BAD BECAUSE SHE LOVES MISO SOUP. Oh gosh, lovely, you are going to have to trade me recipes because all of these foods that you make sound delish! Besides the fact I really need to brush up on my cooking skills.

Ok, next time I make sushi I will post pictures :D Even if it's not a party. And you're getting some kind of invite too, even if you can't come ;)

I'm fairly sure I could be a good friend too, as soon as I meet those possible friends. It's just a matter of running across them . . . everytime I meet friends of my parents' they tell me how much fun I am to be around until my head's so big I can't get it through the door, but I need people of my wavelength to be that way around to get anything out of it :p (I tried explaining Supernatural to my parents' friends and they just stared at me blankly - that was a bit disappointing!)

For some reason this whole miso discussion makes me think of The Mighty Boosh.

:D FABULOUS! Oh gosh, I'm so excited! (And I would brag to all my friends about being invited to your sushi party, because none of my friends have thought to have one. <3)

Haha, I love meeting new people. :D I was waiting in line for the post office, and I met the nicest little old lady and we got into a discussion about college. When I told her I was close to getting my first degree, she said, "Bless you, child!" and gave me this huge hug, haha! (A couple of my friends told me that they're going to try out SPN and I'm like, "HOT GUYS. AMAZING CAR. IT'S FUNNY. IT WON'T DISAPPOINT <3") Oh, bb, you will find amazing people, I'm sure of it.

KJDSLAKDJSA I LOVE THE MIGHTY BOOSH OH GOSH <3 <3 <3 I love that on Nevermind the Buzzcocks, one of the songs they had to complete was that one when Noel was one of the guest stars ( ... )
