I knew before that I really am not one of those kind of people to get 'star-struck', and it really kind of hit home this weekend. I fangirl on the internet, sure, but in real life I kind of...don't. It's more respect than OMGGGG. (Haha, I'm more low-key in real life than on the internet, I think - depending on the situation.) So to see all these people like freaking out, I kind of like could not grasp it? Like, these stars are regular people. Well, as regular as they get. And I'm sure they love the people freaking out, but honestly I feel like there is a level of fangirl before you pass the line to just creepy?
It's hard for me to describe. Like, didn't really go gaga over anyone, but I was very pleasantly pleased with all the panels and the autographs and such. The photo-ops gave me a little contact embarrassment, ngl. (Except for Rob Benedict, who is adorable and my height so I was like, ":D OH HAY GURL" and he was like, "LIKE UR SHIRT" and I was like, "OMGTHAAAAANKS BB <3" and I was like you are so tiny it really is presh.) But I mean most of the time I was just...awkward. Like, I don't know. For me, probably the worst moments were the people taking a picture of Misha's leftover ice cream on the table and someone at the breakfast the next morning talking about Matt Cohen's chewed gum. I was just dumbstruck. Like...really? I'm sorry for you guys who have gone to cons and witnessed much worse and are like, "omg bb this is nothing." AND THEN UUUUGH I'M GETTING THE BAD CHILLS THINKING ABOUT THAT IT CAN GET A LOT WORSE
I had a good experience, especially at the panels and just hanging out with my lovely bbs allhisengines, moorishflower, and occasionally the lovely tiptoe39. The woman I sat next to was amazingly nice and I got along great with all the people I happened to be sitting near. I just, like....I want to go to Chicon, but is it bad I just want to hang with people and see the panels? I don't want to get up close to them, I am happy with the knowledge that I enjoy the work they do.
Note: You guys say what you want, but honestly all the guests at the con were perfectly adorable. Matt Cohen with his, "I'm-so-dark-BUT-HUGS-FOREVER" adorable self, Alona talking about her favorite Disney character, Misha Collins playfully dicking around with the crowd, Katherine being the cutest thing ever, and Rob Benedict saying things like 'p.s.' and 'presh' - everything was great. For the stars, Sunday was probably my favorite day because Samantha and Katherine and Rob like carried on mini-conversations and they were just so warm and presh and seem like they really did enjoy themselves. For hanging out with my people? FRIDAY BECAUSE LOL DRINK EVERYTIME CAS STARES AT SHIT (and also that was the day I met everyone so I mean pretty goddamn great <3)
I HOPE I DID NOT DISAPPOINT ANYONE BY MY REAL LIFE-NESS. I am very excited on the internet, and I can get SO SUPER EXCITED in real life, but honestly I'm very relaxed most of them time? Like, "Ohhhhhhhh well we'll get to it when we get to it, no big. <3" Hahah like once all the excitement is done, I'm just a go-with-the-flow kind of person.
