A reaction that is more than, "WHAT THE FUCK KRIPKE"
OKAY SERIOUS COMMENTARY BUT I'M STILL A LITTLE PISSED/SOBBING NO LIE.
First, let me mourn over Gabriel. He is particularly kick-ass and then has to bite it. And with such a lame trick? BB, you should have known Lucifer was going to see right through that. (Which makes me wonder if it was on purpose or not. He could have poofed out of there. Running at that point...honestly, it wouldn't have made him a coward. I'm sure the brothers would have forgiven it anyway because he would have been batting for Team Free Will by that point. I understand why he didn't run, but I still don't think to have him suddenly disappear or end up distracting Lucifer with the fake angel blade would have been a bad ending. Just because Gabriel finally decided to stand up to what he believed in didn't mean he had to die. I'm not just saying that because I didn't want him to die, but I hate that his character made such a drastic turn for the better--IMO--and then had to die for the cause he stood up for. I just...I was expecting it after the first fake death and, frankly, was disappointed to be right.)
I loved his end speech. I'll add more later when I can finally get my hands on a copy of the episode but oh goodness, bb, you were fucking amazing. I LOVED that part (save the dying). Gabriel being all, "I love you but Dad was right," and Lucifer fucking tearing up because he didn't want to kill his brother and oh jeebus it was perfect. I hate that people would write Gabriel all woobie when it came to his brothers, but this was the Gabriel I always wanted. When push came to shove, he was strong in his beliefs and stood by them. I'M SO PROUD OF YOU, BB, PERFECT.
I loved the idea of a god get-together (minus the fact that they snack on human). Like...oh my, Odin and Baron Samedi in this same room, just chillin? AMAZING. I AM A LITTLE PISSED THAT GANESHA WAS THERE AND FUCK THEM. That elephant scene, sure whatever, but honestly I love Ganesha and if you are going to make Kali all badass, just don't fucking screw over Ganesha. Fuck you, Ganesha didn't even go for all that blood and guts. He admired cleverness and intelligence and wisdom. STOP FUCKING AROUND WITH SHIT YOU DON'T KNOW. I love the religions together, but seriously, do your goddamn research.
Kali annoyed the fuuuuuuuuuuuck out of me. I love strong female characters. I love strong female characters who are kick-ass. I do not love the fact that she tried to murder her old lover in cold blood and he fucking rescues her and she gets away. What? She was the ring-leader of that show. She wanted the Lucifer showdown. And when it happened, she should have gotten her just desserts. All the other gods got wiped, and I thought it was only right that the same should have happened to her, especially since she was the rooting force behind it all. Jesus, it really gets my goat. EDIT: Let me say that I did like her well enough. Like I said, she was a strong female character that did not take shit from anyone. Hell, she almost killed Mercury/Hermes for even suggesting that they chat with Lucifer and not burn him to a crisp first. But she was all talk and no substance and I didn't like that. That's more of the writers' fault than anything, I suppose, but Kali deserved better than flaming arms and a Winchester rescue. (Not that Winchester rescues are bad, but she is not a person she is a GOD.) I get that she is ruthless. (OBVIOUSLY SHE KILLED GABE WITHOUT A THOUGHT.) But if you are going to talk the talk, walk the walk, honey, and IMHO I think Kali could def. give Lucifer a run for his money. Apparently in the SPN universe Lucifer kicks pretty much any ass without breaking a sweat.
Oh, Lucifer. Nick is wearing a bit thin, ain't he? I did like him being there, though. Really showed what he could do when he could put his mind to it. Imagine if he was in Sam. HOLY CHRIST IN HIS TRUE VESSEL HE WOULD JUST RAIN IT DOWN ON EVERYONE. Shit's bananas. And it also let us know that time is running out.
DEAN HAS BALLS NO MATTER WHAT YOU SAY. SEE ALSO: SAM'S EPIC BITCHFACES. Oh my god, I loved that scene. With Dean saying all that shit and Sam is constantly all, "OH GOD SHUT THE FUCK UP DEAN SHUT THE FUCK UP." They weren't in a lot of scenes, but I definitely loved every scene they were in.
EDIT2: ALSO MATT FREWER AS PESTILENCE HOW AMAZING IS THAT. I HAVE SUCH AN OLD-WOMAN CRUSH ON MATT FREWER IT IS RIDICULOUS, GUYS. OH BRING THAT OOOOON.
