My mothafuckin Cure review

Jesus tapdancing Christ. Last night was seriously, if not the best day of my life, pretty close to it. After an excruciating day of 100+ degree hellfire, the Flaming lips were the "pickup" of the night. Though their music doesn't do too much for me, the band put on an awesome show. The lead singer (Keith or something to that effect) made his entrance by descending from the sky in a large plastic bubble. He let the audience oush him around, tried to walk around...things like that.
(sidenote: he didnt come from the sky. it came from the side of the stage. it was just some dream he had that he showed up to coachella like that so he wanted everyone to believe it.)

Dancing animals and suns with flashlights, a really scary fighting nun puppet singing a song that i didnt know, but the lead singer kept trying to make everyone sing. Overall, good....

...and then The Cure.
They opened up with a new song, which totally tripped us out. We all wanted it to be an old song that would get us all amped. I must admit, at the beginning, I was pissed. But then Robert kept singing his heart out, playing the guitar by himself and the song was just heart wrenching. Jessica was crying and I was getting goosebumps everywhere. Great song. The concert was pretty amazing. We all got together beforehand and said which songs we wanted them to play, half of them which were pretty close to not likely. Ill be a son of a bitch if they played all but one. Fucking rad.
The show, overall, was not what I am used to from the cure. they played a hell of a lot of random shit, a b side, lovecats, which they never play, and some new shit. it was a mellow, relaxing, romantic, beautiful 2 hours. i got lotsa pictures...hopefully they turn out.
At the end of the show, Robert announces that they will "see us in the summer." we get in the car, and we hear on the radio that they are touring july-august here...with...INTERPOL!!!!! Holy motherfucking shitballs...i shall be there ♥ ♥ ♥
