Yes, that is indeed correct, I have finally found my first job as a nurse. Far fucking out! And it's in exactly the kind of environment I dreamed of, and exactly the hours I wanted, and the pay is pretty damn good for someone straight outta school.

Well, I don't know enough about how that whole ordeal changed things for you to really have an opinion... but I hope you'll be able to pursue your original plan. :) In any case, if you feel that you want to do that, I'm sure you could manage. People get through all sorts of crazy difficult things... I was talking to my pre-med adviser, and she told me about a woman who was from Afghanistan, and she fled there when the Taliban came into power. That was while she was in medical school, so when she came to the US she tried to resume that goal even though she knew NO English. And now she's at a DO school. It sounds like things would suck, but after everything you've gone through already, you seem capable of handling it.
Yes, it's the one thing I'm so looking forward to about med school (if I manage to get in u___u). I know one of the schools I look at is a bit of a commuter one, so they post audio files of the lectures online in case people can't make it into class, and all the slides are uploaded, too. Maybe that togetherness IN med school is to offset all the freaking out and insane competitiveness required BEFORE med school. B|
Hehe, well, I'm glad you didn't have to go in to class with a head under your arm. That probably would have disrupted class just a bit. XD But the whole thing is really impressive. Seriously.
Oh, but how is the new job going? You must have a few weeks under your belt now... *no sense of time at the moment*
