Lying awake in my hospital room

It wasn't the Easter I was expecting. Instead of munching on chocolate bunnies, I spent much of the day worried about my grandmother, who was taken to the hospital yesterday. Long story short, she's having heart and kidney problems, though none of it seems to be too scary at this point. We're still waiting to hear about the cause and prognosis. I visited her on my lunch break today, and she was in very high spirits. My aunt, who flew in from Atlanta to be by her side, is clearly very nervous, but it's difficult to tell who is closer to right at this point. She has more tests today and tomorrow, so hopefully I'll hear something soon.

My dad actually did the right thing. He picked my grandmother up from her home in Muskogee and drove her to a Tulsa hospital. He stayed by her side until Janet arrived from the airport, probably about 10 hours total. Last October, when my grandfather had to go to the VA hospital in Oklahoma City, Dad didn't even offer to drive. My aunt had to save the day then like so many other times. I can tell my father is trying to be a better person. He's trying to show his affection and appreciation more clearly. In fact, I stumbled across this blog post of his a few days ago mentioning yours truly.

Anyway, I may have more hospital time in my immediate future, depending on when she's released. Between Kayla's baby, this, and my doctor's appointment at St. John tomorrow, that's waaaaay too many trips to different area hospitals over the past week.
