why: While I usually don't find this pairing believable, I think the characters are kept true enough to themselves so that it makes you think that they would act like this... if that makes sense.

summary: Is it possible for a Time Lord to need a companion too much? And what do you do with a former companion, anyway?
why: It's a very nice emotional piece where the doctor acknowledges that he needs Rose too much and tries to correct things. And my description does it no justice. It's just a really good story about Nine leaving Rose, and fate drawing him back to her.

why: You wouldn't think you could do much with just a sentence, but these convey as much as most do with a whole story. That, and it's the first Dresden Files fic I've been able to find.

why: It's filled with tension and seems so very in character.

why: It's long, in depth, and the relationship developed between Hermione and Severus is taken slow and natural.
