So I got everything that I needed to get done yesterday except for buying doors for Maya's TV cabinet. But otherwise, I'm good to go! And I'm not too exhausted! Steve, however, is very, very tired. He left for work this morning at 5am... big news at his company, so he has a lot of work ahead of him. Poor guy.
Kay, so get this... we have having Maya's birthday celebration on Sunday. Her 4th birthday. On Monday? I have to register her for kindergarten. KINDERGARTEN!! Man, I am so not ready for this. I was freaking out a little bit yesterday, only because I thought that I was registering her in February... not on Monday. AND, I found out that the school that we always thought we were taking her to, is cross-boundary for us. So now I have to take her to this whole different school that I know nothing about! But I do feel a little bit better this morning because I know the Vice-Principal at the school that we thought we were taking her to, and he said that the other school is a good one too. And he said to go ahead and register her at that school, and I can make a definite decision by the end of June, and he'll help us out. So that feels better.
Last night was kind of a bad night. I was sleeping, flipping over from my back to my right side, and I dislocated my left shoulder. That hasn't happened in such a long time, and I have no idea what triggered it. Steve woke up right away, and relocated it for me. It sure hurts today though... which is why I'm up so bloody early. So I'll be icing my shoulder all day long, pretty much.
I don't know if you remember me talking about all the windstorms we've had lately. We've had at least a dozen MAJOR and damaging windstorms in my area over the last couple of months... including yesterday (and now this morning, we have snow). Anyway, one of the most damaged areas is Stanley Park, which is a 400 hectare park just outside downtown Vancouver.
This is what it normally looks like:
Just before Christmas, we had a major windstorm that took down nearly 1000 trees and has closed down most of the park. Anyway, the financial institution I work for has been involved in a
tree-a-thon, along with Global TV, accepting donations to help rebuild the park. In two days, the organization has collected over $500,000, with donations being matched by local billionaire, Jim Pattison!! It's so exciting to see, and so great that people here still care so deeply about the park.
Well, Chase is awake, so I better go. Thank goodness I got so much done yesterday, because I am basically out of commission today. :(
