(no subject)
So I'm actually trying to upload house pictures to post but Scrapbook is being dumb and not working right. So only some of them are there and I guess I'll have to wait to get the rest of them up and posted so I can share.
I had a really really awesome weekend. Shaun and I hosted both his parents and my parents (plus brothers!) for a Mother's Day lunch. We made cheese lasagna and green bean casserole and also served Avanti's bread and a salad. For dessert I made chocolate chip cookie dough cupcakes (yes - cookie dough cupcakes!) and Shaun and I made fruit flower arrangements (a la Edible Arrangements but much cheaper and way awesomer because they're homemade!) We also had to go buy some more stuff for the house because Shaun realized he didn't have enough glasses or flatware for 8 people. So we got some new stuff that I like a lot. Next step will be to get some dinnerware that matches!
Preparing for the lunch was a lot of work and made Saturday a very long day but it was super worth it. Shaun's brother Bryce was with us so that was fun and it was just really nice to host our first family thing in the new house. The actual luncheon (haha that sounds so fancy) went superbly well and I was really happy the whole time. The food turned out great, everybody got along and actually talked to each other (though actually the families met for Easter dinner a couple weeks ago so the first awkward meeting was over). It was a weird but wonderful feeling to be the one hosting a family event. But I am looking forward to many more. :)
