I didn't really mean to wax philosophical about yoga for the entire last entry. It just sort of happened. So now I shall recap the fabulous weekend that I had!

Saturday morning, I had bells which was pretty good. We have started Christmas music and my director handed out a fabulous arrangement of the Coventry Carol which I love love love. The bass part is really technical and interesting annnnd I even get the melody once or twice! Sweet deal.

Then I worked which mostly meant that I wasted time until 2:00 at which point I could run a few errands in preparation for the evening. I tried to buy delicious focaccia from the Bread Basket, but when I got there there was a sign on the door saying they are out of business! That's super weird because I was there just last Friday, and nobody said anything to me about an imminent closing forever. So that was sad. I got substitute focaccia from Hy-Vee, but it's just not the same.

I needed the aforementioned focaccia for dinner at Brad and Jenna's house. They made the spaghetti and I brought the bread. I broiled it a bit and then made an olive oil and herb dipping sauce for it. Turned out fabulously, if I do say so myself. Dinner with Brad and Jenna is always fun.

After dinner, we waited for Jess to show up and then went down to the District for OK Go (You know, these guys.) at RIBCO! It was a really great, super fun show. I think I like them better live than recorded. I bought their second album and only really liked about half of it, but they were fabulous live. Great energy. I'll probably get their next album when it comes out as well. But if I didn't already know that I liked them, they would have totally won me over at this show. Why? Because they played a song on freakin handbells! Handbells!! My musical instrument of choice that nobody has ever heard of most of the time! Here's a video of them doing a handbell song (not the show I went to and nevermind their horrible technique, haha). Sigh. I think I'm in love.

Sunday, I didn't do a whole lot. For class, I finished reading my chosen book for Horror, which was I Am Legend. I guess when it was first published (in 1954) it was marketed as sci-fi, but most people now recognize it as the beginning of the modern horror genre. It's really, really good. Really makes you feel like you are right there with Robert while he goes through his terrible ordeal. It's absolutely nothing like the movie. I am not going to say I like one better than the other - they are really two different stories and both good in their own right. The only similarity is that the main character is a dude named Robert Neville who is the last man left in a world of humans turned into undead. But anyway, I would highly recommend reading the book if you've seen the movie. And even if you haven't!

Finally, the Lazyman Triathlon has begun!
