I knew I'd heard this somewhere. Innaugural speech? Where would I have heard Nelson Mandela's innaugural speech? I don't know. It's more true than most could even fathom, though. This falls well within the bounds of that depression discussion we had a while back how people who're depressed, in my theory, are very often simply depressed because it's more comfortable. It gives them a reason to not embrace their free will. If they embraced their free will - their ability to change their perception and therefore their reality and also do work to fix their situation - they would fall apart because they're cowards. It's so much easier not to suffer the "slings and arrows" of everyday life in the work of an hard-working optimist ( ... )
