i am such a fucking consumer.
i braved the after thanksgiving union square shopping crowds this weekend with my touristy visiting mom.
i got a 3 foot tall hot pink tinsel xmas tree for my first xmas in my new house. then i got mini lime green glittery ball ornaments to decorate it with! it's the most gaudy tree i have ever seen, but christmas is pretty gaudy itself, so it's fitting. i even topped the tree with a ribbon. i still want to put lights on it, but i am afraid it might melt and my place has hardwood floors so that might be a bit of a fire hazard.
i got lots of great xmas presents from my mom this weekend, including a trip to vickie's in which i got a pink polka dot bra among other things. i also got a vintagy hat that i love. i can't wear hats because having a fauxhawked pixie cut means looking like an 8 year old boy with leukemia, but i love this hat so much i intend on rocking it with style, especially on those rainy mornings when your hair gets all wet and matted flat to your head anyway. i also got the bestest lip gloss ever made. it tastes like sugar and looks good for hours (and i am fussy about lipgloss that gets gooey).
money doesn't buy you happiness. but shopping on the mom's credit card (which is an event that rarely if ever happens, i might add), can definately be an exciting way to eat up some holiday visit time with the family.
ps. i love pixar. they are the bestest thing to come out of emeryville since rudy's can't fail cafe. 3d animation makes me all nerdy inside. plus, they thank steve jobs in the credits. and that's fucking rad.
