We hath heard that the only way to leave this world ist to collect all the badges this world has to offer. And we have found the only way to obtain these badges ist by Pokemon battle.

A critter...? I don't think so... [a thoughtful pause... and then] Oh! Maybe it's hidin' in this here saddlebag. [Smiles at Luna] Jes' a sec, ma'am! I gotta check.
[without waiting for a response, she sets the bag and PokeGear down (careful to try and keep it from falling deep into the snow), and opens it up... oh, well whaddaya know, there's a little green jacket it there! Frowns, mentally berating herself for not checking, and puts it on (backwards and inside-out, but still!)... and the towel in there becomes a make-shift cape... but no critters.
She begins pulling things out, tossing them behind her, trying to see if emptying the bag will somehow make it easier to see a hiding animal. Shampoo goes flying through the air... rubber gloves... a book... some red and white ball...
And with a flash of light, a Machop is released from it's PokeBall!
But Apple Bloom is still too busy to notice. Where is that animal??]

Apple Bloom blinks down at the 'Gear at Luna's words, and then turns around...]
-- Whoa!!
[... and falls backward over her own bag.
The Machop seems more bemused than anything else. What's the deal with this trainer??
After getting over the shock of SUDDEN POKE-Y-MAN FROM NOWHERE, AB sits up, staring at the creature in bewilderment.]
Wh-- that's a poke-y-mun? [squints at it...] ... It looks mighty strange, if ya ask me.

Ah! Art thou alright?
[She gives a nod.]
Indeed, it is. All animals in this world are called Pokemon. Our own pokemon is quite different from thou's own.

[she reaches for the Pokemon's face, and... tugs on the corners of it's mouth, stretching it out, then examines the creature's teeth, and then pulls it's cheeks, and so on.]
... Are ya sure it's a "Poke-y-mun"? It's got kinda the same shape as them "hu-mun" things I've been told about...
[The Machop, misconstruing AB's examination technique, decides to repay her greeting... that is, it pulls at Apple Bloom's own cheeks in return. AB makes a startled,] Eeeh? [but the Pokemon just looks cheerful.]
