This French major lately has really been getting me down. I understand more than ever and on one hand I understand that I can grasp this concept. On the other I feel no closer to "speaking" French than I was when I first started learning French. And reading a thousand pages a French a week is not helping (ok so it is more like a couple of hundred pages but it might as well be a thousand)
However today I got a great laugh from Gargantua, I love this book and it so makes up for the last book we read for this class which was long, boring, preachy and hard to comprehend. So I leave this funny quote for you;
So to set the scene, this is the author's note to the readers, telling them why they have to read his book. ....escoutaz vietdazes... Which in Renaissance French means, listen up donkey-penises. He later goes on to wish STDs on anyone who doesn't drink to his (the author's) health. This is my kind of humorous French book....
