War of the Worlds
So I saw it. I'm not gonna spoil it for anybody, but I wanna say a few things. First of all, I LOVE “disaster” movies. And my most favourite one is Independence Day. Yes, they hack in the alien computer, SO WHAT? :p Maybe the aliens were running Windows 95®, we’ll never know. ANYWAY, I went to the movies tonight, hoping that War of the Worlds would change that top.
Meh, it didn’t. And it’s a pity, because the movie is alert and interesting and well done, for the most part. It has everything a disaster movie should have! Everything but the ending… I mean, I haven’t read the book, I admit it. And maybe this ending is a perfect one for a book, but for a movie? DAMN! It’s like they… suddenly got bored! “OK people, we are at two hours, let’s fucking cut it!” And so they did. Oh well, I guess it’s Independence Day forever OMG! ;) What else annoyed me about this movie? TOM. He's... always so over the top and... GUH!
What I really loved about this movie? Dakota Fanning! People, she’s amazing! Her role is a very difficult one, especially for an 11 year old kid. You can read any and every emotion on her face and she’s convincing and… good. I noticed her in Trapped and followed her career ever since. I decided to keep her! ;) Anyway, go see War of the Worlds, and tell me what you think, I’m really curious.
