Moo. (Round women, full of promises.)

Been sort of chewing on writing this one for a while. So, on with the moderately literal omphaloskepsis.

(I ponder whether I'm writing this at the moment because I'm grouchy at being repeatedly told that people don't see any Het-Herw energy in me. Hah.)

Cut for the possibility of length. )

hethert, about me, family

Moo. (Round women, full of promises.)

I spent several seconds trying to read this as a perfectly-spherical-cow joke before I got to the bit about Het-Herw and realized what you were talking about.

Consider a spherical goddess, completely filled with ma'at. . .

At uniform temperature and pressure. You can't forget the uniform temperature and pressure.

- Brooks, muttering about whether or not ma'at is compressible....

Yes, because it should obey the Ideal Gas Law.

Which is about how I'm feeling at 6 months. Though neither temperature nor pressure is uniform. *kick* *kick* (And v. much not compressible.)

I'm not getting the kicks yet, but I'm sure they're on their way...

Oh, definitely. Don't let anyone rush you into feeling like you "ought" to be feeling them already. Takes a long time, especially with the first. (I've been driven nearly 'round the bend by folks asking"is it kicking yet?" in a "it should be" tone.) I'm up to 10+ a day, but even just last week, it was more like 1-4 every 3 days or so. Days without anything. Frequency now up to daily, but only in the last couple of days.

Oh, good, I was beginning to feel slightly defective, mostly since my doctor expected me to be feeling things...

Great, just great. Now the cat is hiding under the bed and I'm sure I've woken my housemates with peals of laughter.

Well done. :-)
