Agreed on that. However it's just something I've noticed when a character dies in a series and I go to write fic for them after - there's a feel that this can't ever be. Not really. (even though i know it won't actually ever be).

Just some strange internal process my brain uses I suppose.

I don't know why people insist that Sarah has to die. Quite frankly, if I focus, I can hear my inner Sarah Jane just fine.

I hate that Lis is gone - I hate that we'll never hear those stories with Four and Sarah, although the dream is usually much nicer than reality. But just because Lis isn't with us now, doesn't mean that Sarah can't and shouldn't go on.

This is why I have such an aversion to deathfic. As long as I have ideas, I'll be writing Sarah Jane.

I figured I might be 'preaching to the choir' here, but meh it's where I had my soap box set up. :)

Me too, I have far far too many fics waiting to be written.

I've got a crazy little Sarah voice in my head too (if you go bonkers, take everyone with you!) and one of my hopes is that once all these insane memorandum/death 'fics fade out that others will still continue on writing new adventures for her. The character is still very much alive (and even if she were to be gone in canon, characters are always alive in some form or another in fanfic) and should still be out there in new stories.

Putting Sarah's death into canon at this very moment seems completely unnecessary to me. The only way I think they should even attempt it (which I don't think they should) is if we saw Luke et al discussing her- some time in the very distant future. Leaving when, and how she died completely up to the viewer.

Me too, me too. And I know that somewhere SJ would be alive in fan fic. And I would be able to set aside the death for the duration of the fic, then there's that horrible let down when the 'canon' comes rushing back in.

Come on Uncle Rusty. Do it like I thought you were. :)
