My film made it into the FESTIVAL!!!
SO...
My FINAL FILM from last semester got chosen for TAKE 1 FILM FESTIVAL!!!!
What is Take 1?!? It's a film festival for Columbia College Chicago beginning film students who take Production 1(which was my class)or production 2.
How many make it?!? Out of 300 students in Production 1 last semester, only 34 were chosen to be judged. And of the 34, only 5!! make it!!!
Then what?! There is a festival at the school where we view the 5 films and there is an audience vote and the judges choose their favorite. The overall winner gets their film telecined(because we shot on 16mm, they transfer it to DVD) and $250!!!
I am so excited. I dont mean to be a "showoff" or anything...but I am very proud of myself. When I first started in Film, I was very intimidated and I had no idea what I was getting myself into. I was worried that maybe I made the wrond decision by changing my major from Theater to Film...but this has changed all that. This is just the beginning of the amazing things I want to do. It gives me faith in myself(which I have a hard time doing in the first place...)
