77 days!!!!! And an AMAZING New York trip!
77 days 'till June 15th! (I've got a count going on myspace!)
*Ahem* So I'm TERRIBLY jealous of all the music people going to NYC. (Although they only get to see one broadway show.) But alas, I suppose it's okay, since I went to NYC last weekend. =D Oh, and here's a low-down of it!!! =)
*~* FRIDAY *~*
Woke up DARN early (*grumbles*) and got over to the school. Uneventful bus ride... I listened to my IPod for most of it. We got to NYC around 11 I think, drove around and looked at some places, and then got off to get lunch. It was funny... we broke up into groups, so people could go to different places... but almost every group ended up going to the same pizza place, including my group. I can't eat pizza-- so I got a salad, or pretty much tomatoes and mozzerella cheese (yum!). Then we went to the Central Park Zoo! It was WONDERFUL... adorable animals. Then we walked like all through Central Park to go to Strawberry Fields, a John Lennon memorial... and it was cool. The best part was talking to an 8th grader who hadn't been to NYC before. She was so excited and happy. I smiled, and told her that NYC never gets old. It's not the same as seeing it for the first time... but each time you fall in love with the city again.
We also went to a sanctuary, where there was this awesome sculpture. Then we did an acting workshop with a neat woman. Then we ate dinner at this BBQ place, and it was GOOD! Then we walked around Times Square (I stopped by Virgin Records and got a CD) and then went to BEAUTY AND THE BEAST!
The show was amazing. It felt nostalgic... It's so fun to see a good ol'-fashioned fun Disney musical! Belle was amazing. Now Belle is one of my dream roles. =) And then I bought a Belle locket to support Broadway Cares. (I wanted to buy the poster, but it was $40!) And as I was walking back to the bus...
...the actress who played Belle came out from the backstage door! I was like, "OMG! It's BELLE!" I got her autograph and a picture w/ her... and made it to the bus. AMAZING.
Then we got to the hotel, went upstairs... I roomed w/ three other girls... and we watched a little TV, gossiped a little, and then went to sleep.
*~* SATURDAY *~*
Had a very weird experience. I was dreaming, and I saw a celebrity in my dream, so I screamed. Suddenly I realized that I had woken up RIGHT after seeing the celebrity in my dream. In other words, when I screamed. I went back to sleep, hideously embarressed...
Then got up again at around 7:35, showered and got dressed for 8 am breakfast. Then we got back on the bus, went shopping for momentos, and I bought a broadway keychain! =) Then we went to SoHo, and walked around. Then Kristi, Kate, and I decided to go to this little cafe. Then we went to a Pier mall for lunch... Then we went and saw LIGHT IN THE PIAZZA. Amazing show... even though I'd already seen it this summer at UArts. (I wanted to cry during intermission and I started thinking about UArts... I miss that SO much...) Then we had a little chat w/ some members of the cast (including Victoria Clark-- THE lead!). Then it was time to leave NYC.
But mark my words:
"But I'll be back for good someday!"
