This is partly why I hate livejournal; people on here think it's "so cool" to own sugar gliders when they are, in fact, wild animals. (At least the only problem with people on deadjournal is that they're immature due to their _age_. With livejournal, it's inherent, aside from people like houyhnhnm13.) They are not meant to be kept as pets,

I'm not sold on livejournal < deadjournal

There's a shit-ton of people on lj, like, millions. you're pretty much guaranteed diversity. It's hard to find smart communities, but they're out there. There's a lot of people on deadjournal, 400,000 or so, but a lot of them are young and angst-y.

Also, I knew a girl with sugar gilders (an old boyfriend's housemate) those fuckers smell and are loud and BELONG OUTSIDE

It's definitely true: livejournal has a greater variety of people. But I hate people mostly, and thus, it is the perfect environment for me.

Social people probably prefer livejournal. You can't socialize on deadjournal - either all the journals are abandoned, or the people you find are at a level of IQ simply too low to allow conversation. Sad but true.

True, but it's just so much easier to pin my anger on livejournal because of sooooo many angsty people. I don't frequent angsty people places in reality. Or at least try not to. Though Santa Cruz is full of them and it is hard to avoid...hrm.
