updates

Don't fall off your chair from shock because I'm actually posting in my livejournal.  I realize it has been since October, but maybe nothing worthwhile has happened since then to write about? ;-)  Well that's not true, but I get so busy that I forget to post so here is a quick update...

Wedding planning is going well-- we have most of the major stuff taken care of.  We have the reception site, the church, a DJ, photographer, bridemaid dresses and my dress have been ordered, the limo.... we still need to figure out the florist, invitations, and hair/makeup as major pieces.  Oh, and an officiant- I think I've decided who we are asking to do the ceremony, it's just a matter of me sending him a deposit and also we need to do pre-marriage counseling with him starting this summer.  Super.

Grad school has been a complete nightmare this semester.  I don't know why I'm so crazed and bogged down with work all the time, but I am.  I've been working at an outpatient mental health center to fulfill my 100 practicum hours and I spend what seems like hours writing in my journal about what I've been experiencing.  See, I DO journal- just for a grade and it's literally 25 pages single spaced already after just 7 weeks.   So I guess I'm pretty overwhelmed, to put it mildly- a lot of really BIG projects and group projects too, which do NOT work well when you're an online student.  Once I get to April 10th a lot of the big stuff will be behind me...it's just a matter of making it until then, which some days I wonder how I will possibly get it all done.....

We're moving to Rochester in August, which is probably my biggest news of the past few months.  We've kept it kind of quiet, especially because we haven't had the chance to tell his family yet.  But, now his mom and stepdad know so slowly we are letting people in on the secret.  I was offered (and accepted) my Masters' internship at Roberts Wesleyan College, which starts at the end of August and goes for the entire academic year.  I'll be working in their counseling office and also in career counseling-- I'm actually really excited and think it'll be a great experience for me.  I am so done with Boston, and J.R. & I are ready to start our married lives somewhere new.  We won't be buying a house right away, but that's the plan once I am done with school.  Of course, buying in Rochester will be infinitely less expensive than what we paid for this condo, which was also a big reason we decided to move (cost of living).  Now I have to add the stress of selling our condo to the wedding planning, grad school and upcoming move...... it's going to be a busy year, that's for sure!

Even though I don't update often enough, I do read my friends' journals and comment periodically, so I just want you to know that I am around!  Leave me comments or I won't have any motivation to update this for another 5 months. ;-)  Have a great weekend!
