more college

okay guys, I'm going to copy nicole. i've gotten into drew, muhlenberg, lafayette, connecticut college, and bates. ive narrowed it down to connecticut and bates, and am leaning towards bates, but i'm not positive. any comments/ opinions/ knowledge would be helpful! here are some notable comparisons:

Pros for Bates:
-Bates is ranked higher in US News (number 23... i know that rankings shouldnt supposably matter to me, but top 25 is pretty darn cool.)
-Bates has a more liberal atmosphere
-Bates has a Rhetoric major/ minor (two words: cool beans)
-Bates has a "Bates Civil Liberties Union" club
-Bates has an internationally reknowned debate team
-I danced around the house when I got the acceptance package
-Bates male to female ratio is 49:51
-Bates is very selective, and even more so for women (becuase of the evenly maintained ratio), and they wanted me
-Bates has a 100% acceptance rate to law school (when applying straight out of college)
-Bates has higher rankings for selectivity, academics, quality of life, and teacher interest/accesibility
-Bates has no foreign language requirement
-it was founded by abolitionists, and was the first school to accept both men and women
-endowment of $207.5 Million (bigger than conn's)
-very pretty campus
-howard zinn came to speak there (another cool beans)

Pros for Conn:
-it is closer to home (2 hours vs. 5 hours)
-it is very selective (but not as selective as Bates), and extremely selective for CTers, and they wanted me
- the campus is bigger (750 acres, vs Bates 109 acres)
-endowment of $164.8 Million (FY 2005) (smaller than bates)
-only one math course is required
-only one science course is required
-its weather conditions are not so extreme
-it has an honor code
-i can minor in anything i want (including english and art)
-very pretty campus
-it has TNEs (thursday night events) which are popular for frosh and sophs
-it gets good bands to come

Cons for Bates:
-it requires 2 science courses and a math course
-it requires gym (but this isn't so bad... i can take ballet, or bowling, or yoga, etc)
-it is pretty far away
-it is very very cold and snowy
-it is known for having pretty athletic people, and i am not athletic... nor do i want to be
-smaller campus
-i can't minor in english, art, or poli sci (i can major in them though, and i can minor in philosophy, religion, history, or rhetoric)
-i'm worried that i'm not good enough for it, and i'll have to work really hard. but this is a minor concern, because i realize that i am just occasionally insecure and generally paranoid

Cons for Conn (giggle):
-it is less liberal
-it is described as WASPy in the Princeton Review Guide, and having strained racial interactions in the Fiske Guide
-it has a foreign language requirement (2 semesters)
-ranked lower in us news (#39),  and for academics, selectivity, teacher accesibility/ interesting, and quality of life
-i didn't jump around when i got the package
-i wasn't too fond of the art department (although it is supposably very good... so i could be wrong)
-my dad thought the art building smelled moldy
-i'm not sure how i'll fit in. the people are known to be a little less  left leaning, more preppy, and more cliquish
-beer is popular (same with bates), but so is hard liquor.
-the weather may not be extreme, but it could be hit by a hurricane
-it is right next to the coast guard academy
-it is near a nuclear power plant

so, any thoughts would be appreciated.
