While most of my college-aged friends are fully enmeshed in their summer break by this point, I am still quite in school. It's kind of weird being in Eberhard with no one else there at all. Student teaching goes until May 30th, and my last class for GVSU is May 29.
At some point, I should be hearing more about my placement for gen ed next semester. I really need to call back the COE lady who called me (again.) I wish everyone called you back after you called them. Calling someone twice even though they've only called me once is not cool. But I need to be able to find out my placement before I leave for Texas. Otherwise, I won't be able to go meet the teacher, etc. Rumor has it, it's somewhere in Hudsonville. If you count being told by the placement coordinator as a rumor. And I do.
I'm kind of glad that it's cold and gross and rainy today. I've gotten a lot done. Last Sunday it was gorgeous and instead of all of the things I had been planning on doing, I dropped it all and went to the beach with the boy. Who is now the ex, by the way. We're trying to stay friends, so we'll see how this works out. I am worried, because of some of the comments that have been made.
Currently I have a to-do list and I am alternating between academic tasks and physical labor tasks. I have 1.375 physical labor tasks for every academic task. I like long division. It's difficult because I'm in the mood to clean, not lesson plan. I do sometimes feel in the mood to lesson plan and not clean, but today is not one of those instances. Unfortunately, lesson planning needs to happen before tomorrow. I am turning on The Office to keep me company while I type out my lesson plan outlines. At least I'm done with ITIPs. I don't know if we have to do them for gen ed, but I know that we don't have to do them for our second special ed. Wahoo!
That guy on T.V. (I'm waiting for the office) just said that COE stands for Chairman of Everything. I always thought it meant College of Education. GVSU has been lying to me!
I used my online amazon gift certificate from my sister and bought a HIGH LLAMAS CD today. I'm excited. Wahoooo! And not even very expensive.
OH my goodness. The interviewer (Marie Osmond, I think) just asked this lady "How did you keep all of your children from not losing hope?" Is it just me, or is there some serious grammatic issue with that question. She SHOULD have asked "How did you keep all of your children from losing hope?" but she didn't. Ridiculous. I really don't want to watch this show, I just want to watch the office.
I am quite proud of myself because I think I've found the perfect drug cocktail to counteract my allergies but also allow me to sleep and not give me hangovers. I used to take 12 hour Zyrtec D in the morning, but not at night, because if I took it at night, it kept me from sleeping. Then they switched Zyrtec to be Over the Counter, they messed with something in it, because even if I took it at 6 a.m., I couldn't sleep; even though I went to sleep long after when the 12 hour medication should have worn off. I could have taken Benadryl, but taking Benadryl doesn't work for me if I have to wake up in the morning because it gives me hangovers. But this weekend I discovered that if I take Zyrtec in the morning and half of a Benadryl at night, it's PERFECT. YAY drug cocktails!
They really need to turn the Office on now. Blarghahooey.
