2009

Contrary to many people I have talked to, I'm having a hard time believing that 2009 will be *better* than 2008 - Of course, we had one big event that made 2008 incredible, and she is currently walking around, carrying VHS tapes that were bound for the trash, and thinking they are the bestest toys ever. I hope 2009 is just as good as 08, but the bar has been set very high.

Don got a Wii for Christmas from my family, and I just got a Fit to go with it and OMG AM I SORE. I was jostling the baby while fallingwalking down the stairs this morning. Quads hurt. This is a good thing. I belonged to curves for a year or two, and never really felt like I got a workout, because I was never sore afterwards. Guess it's a mental thing with me - I have to feel it to believe it's doing any good.

We succeeded in preventing an influx of battery-operated toys into the household at Christmas. We only got two, and they are a big hit. One is kind of just obnoxious, and I told the giver to remind me to throw it at her head next time I see her, but the other one is a Leapfrog, and I can actually see it being somewhat beneficial down the road - and it's much less annoying. Right now, it's just for our amusement because we have it set to play music and we watch Lilah dance. It's hysterical.

Family drama was actually at a minimum, which was nice. The whole family dinner was a total mess (as Kristy can attest), but I avoided it, since we had plans. Darn.

Aside from the (typical) New year's resolutions (lose weight, eat better), I am going to be more proactive with clipping and using coupons.

Ok, little one needs a nap. Mama needs a cup of coffee.
