For one week, recommend/share:
Day 1: a song
Day 2: a picture
Day 3: a book/ebook/fanfic
Day 4: a site
Day 5: a youtube clip
Day 6: a quote
Day 7: whatever tickles your fancy

If you don't mind, I'll be recommending a comic book instead. I guess it falls under the category of "book" ... in a unique kind of way. Hehe. Which comic book? You probably already heard about it but it's not as popular as I would hope. It's not Batman; frankly, everyone on my F-List already knows who batman is and half of you read his comic book series. It's not Green Lantern, Flash or any DC Universe superhero, (although, I actually prefer DC Comics over any other comics).

Oh snap! Daredevil!! The Bendis / Maleev run "The King of Hell's Kitchen" (Volume 9 Graphic Novel) seriously kicks ass. I can't express the amount of joy when I first began reading this series. It was during the time when the movie just came out, (the terrible one with Ben Affleck), and I was curious enough to check out the actual comic book. I did and fell in love with Maleev's art work for some reason.

The premise is somewhat unique; Matt Murdock finally decides to expose himself as Daredevil and also proclaims himself as the Kingpin of Hell's Kitchen. All goes well in the beginning until a Yakuza gang comes along and decide to pay Daredevil a visit. Yes, they want to take over and kill off daredevil.

As you can see, he doesn't go down quietly. Oh dayum, I always loved watching this.

Oh, there are some special guests as well. Right now it's going for 10-12.99 over at a local bookstore so pick it up if you're interested. :3

Now onto some Pokemon related. In my recent post I talked about diversity. This time I want to talk about your lead pokemon. There's a whole list of different types of Lead pokemon like anti-lead, suicide lead etc. So let me go talk about it in the cut.

IMO, the best leads usually go first in a match but sometimes it works the other way around depending on what lead you're using.

Support Lead:
Usually a fast pokemon or a pokemon with high HP, Defense or Special Defense. Pokemon like Baton Pass Ninjask who uses sword dance to quickly increase strength to high proportions then baton passing to a massive sweeper like Gyarados, Salamence etc. Then there's pokemon like Aerodactyl who, uses stealth rock to cripple any foes who switches in and pulverizes them until they get knocked out. Pokemon that switches in who are weak against Rock will get their HP cut in half. It's an amazing trick. Extremely useful in the competitive battling.

Suicide Lead:
A perfect example would be Froslass. Her speed is high so she can out-maneuver a lot of other pokemon in the metagame and she's a ghost so fake-out won't work on her. Unlike a support lead, her attention is to prevent any set up like stealth rock or spikes by taunting the opponent. When that happens she'll most likely be attacked which is what you WANT to happen; hence the suicide. When her life goes to 1 (with focus sash), quickly destiny bond and wham. You kill you and your opponent. Usually people (during the turn the opposing pokemon attacks, you set up spikes yourself). Yet another useful lead but prepare to lose one pokemon in your team regardless of your strategy.

Anti-Lead:
If you want to prevent any set up at all and want to counter pokemon, you go with an anti-lead. Let's use Weavile. It's bound to go first with its high speed, so first we use fake out to get a first hit and ruin any pokemon that depend on focus sash to survive the game. Immediately Taunt right after to prevent them from setting up any spikes of stealth rock. After taunt the opposing pokemon is bound to attack so this is where counter comes in and WHAM; usually this turns into a OHKO. Another great anti-lead is Machamp's strategy. First he encores the opponent making him repeat the same move over and over. Pokemon like Bronzong will use hypnosis so it's good to have lum berry with you which will immediately wake you up. Anyways, fast pokemon want to set up quickly then attack, so with encore, a pokemon like aerodactyl will have to perform Stealth Rock over and over again. This would make your opponent want to switch out aerodactyl for another pokemon so with that, it'll give you a chance to substitute and dynamicpunch your incoming pokemon freely.

Standard:
Just a regular pokemon with no lead strategy; usually consists of a pokemon with hypnosis like Gengar. It's main purpose is to quickly make your opponent sleep then sweep.

That's about it. I'm sure there are more but that's all I can think of at the moment.

Random Note: Tarantino announced a new Kill Bill movie (Kill Bill 3). Both the character and actor are dead so... I don't understand why they would make a new one. Oh well.

BTW for those interested, here's an english trailer of Final Fantasy XIII. Guah, I am so buying this.
