so i've been on a crazy political/social documentary kick lately. the ones i've watched recently deal with wal-mart. and it's pretty scary what i've learned about wal-mart. in fact, i doubt i'll ever shop at another one again. and i'm not talking about the loss of small businesses and their substandard health care and wages. i'm talking about putting your life in danger by going into their parking lots.
80% of all crime at wal-mart happens outside the store. yet all of their security guards are for inside the store. there's been rapes, murders, dumpings of bodies, robberies, etc. throughout the world at wal-mart parking lots. and they just don't care. there was actually a case in california where the family won $18 million for the death of their raped and murdered daughter because wal-mart was found negligent. how scary is that?! they don't care about you at all once you give them your money. now that's fucked up. plain and simple.
