For fans of the LITTLE AMBER ICON, you may like to know how this has actually ended up.
The car went into the garage two weeks ago. The service people crawled all over the electronics and couldn't find anything wrong, though if they left the engine to idle the LITTLE AMBER ICON appeared again, and the engine management system struggled to cope as long as it remained flashing.
So they sent for a new sensor, and fitted it.
Whoops. Here came the LITTLE AMBER ICON.
So they stripped down the engine and started trying to find the fault. Which they did. It's the cylindar heads. So they are going to have to replace them - and probably rebuild bits of the engine.
At least we have now been promised a courtesy car for the duration.
