First of all, I'd like to give Sayaka a big round of applause for her even wanting the child to learn well the issues that life sets for children, and wanting to care for the well-being of the child. You've always had it in you to show a gracious and loving heart for others, and it's that heart and who you are that we all love.
As a hypnotist, I know that a person has done almost all their personality and behavioral programming by the time they are 8 years old. Events leading up to that age have a profound impact on who they will be. I see it in clients all the time, who have an issue in life, but it tends to be a result of something which happened when they were a young child.
It could very well be that without some sort of remedial action to change an emotional charge with a memory in the child's mind, he may be affected later on as an adult.
My suggestion Sayaka, is to help where you can. Help him see the genuine love that flows from your heart. Years from now, who knows? You may just find yourself looking on TV at the President-Elect and saying "I used to Babysit and care for him when he was younger!"
But by no means are you anything close to being the stupid one here. *Hugs* You're a wonderful friend and we all see the kindness and compassion you have. Stay true to yourself and know that we are all behind you. You've the biggest heart of all.
