"It's a small world..."

It is now time for the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival!  Starting today (Sept. 26) and going through November 9, the festival features additional food and wine opportunities from more locations all over the world, as well as special demonstrations, encounters, and surprise musical guests.

Yesterday was cast preview day, so I stopped.  I thought we were going to get a discount, but instead we just got to get the food a day early (along with anyone else who was at the park that day).  Today, I came back to the park to sample everything again.  The portions are ridiculously small and the prices are outrageous, but everything is so worth it.  I also found out that they are going to have a Film Network Challenge at the festival on October 26!  YAY!

Here's a list of my samplings thus far:
  • Shanghai, China -- pork pot stickers.  You get two of them...so tasty!
  • New Delhi, India -- red curry shrimp over rice.  Two pieces of shrimp with the rice and the sauce.  Pretty spicy, but so good.
  • Bologna, Italy -- baked ziti.  (Now you didn't expect me to pass this up, did you?)  The only serving size that was big enough to be almost a meal.  So, so amazing!
  • Cork, Ireland -- potato leek soup with a dubliner cheese stick.  Not that bad.  Good, but not something I'd get again.
  • Cork, Ireland -- boxty with bacon chips and kerrygold garlic and fresh herb butter.  Basically a little bit of onion wrapped in pastry.  The butter was out of this world.  Wasn't too fond of the boxty.  Again, not bad, but not my kind of thing.
  • Lyon, France -- goat cheese and leek quiche.  Was not expecting to like it, but it was really good.  Not fond of it enough to have a full thing, but good to split.
  • Lyon, France -- milk chocolate creme brulee.  (Again, of course!)  It tasted like chocolate pudding...wasn't solid like most other brulees.  And the top wasn't too crispy.  But it was wonderful.  The perfect chocolate dessert for a woman.  :)
  • Krakow, Poland -- kielbasa and potato pierogies with caramalized onions and sour cream.  One pierogie and two small slices of kielbasa.  A staple...one of my favorite offerings at the festival.  Delicious.
  • Montreal, Canada -- cheddar cheese soup.  OH MY GOD!!  My absolute favorite!  Everytime you order one, the staff cheers.  Oh, it's completely impeccable.
  • Montreal, Canada -- maple custard with almond crumble.  My favorite dessert.  Couldn't even taste the almond.  So, so good.  Yummy!!

Also, I finally got to see "Finding Nemo: The Musical."  All I'm going to say is that I found my new goal with WDW Entertainment.  It used to be chorus in "Hunchback."  Now, it's to be in the turtle sequence of Nemo.  That show was so amazing...my new favorite after Hunchback.  The cast today was phenomenal.  Great voices, energetic personalities.  The guy who played Crush was my definite favorite, by far.

Well, I'm going to call it a night.  It's a very long week of working at all of the parks.  :)

Ciao!
